• The MP8 445SE engine has made a huge jump in fuel efficiency compared to US07 emissions engines, increasing fuel savings by up to 5 percent.

• Long haul duty cycle improvements can yield up to a 2 percent improvement in fuel economy.

• Mack Pinnacle sleepers equipped with the full Aero Package can produce up to a 6 percent boost in fuel savings.

• Using C125 Series Drive Axles can generate up to 1.5 percent in fuel savings.

Powertrain that includes the Mack MP™ Engine; Mack mDRIVE™ 12-speed, automated

fairings); and the use of Low Rolling Resistance Tires. But ultimately, it’s inside the engine

ENGINEERED TO MAXIMIZE EVERY DROP OF FUELUnder normal cruise speed conditions the Super

Econodyne engine and mDRIVE transmission

combination will automatically seek the highest

possible gear range at the lowest possible RPMs

to optimize fuel economy. The mDRIVE continually

looks at dozens of output readings – 100 percent

of available information, 100 percent of the time –

before making any type of shift decision. This high

level of performance is simply not possible without

a fully integrated Mack Pedigree Powertrain.

The Super Econodyne MP Engine has been

developed with new and specific performance

capabilities enabling the super low engine speed

performance. Soft Cruise Control allows a larger

vehicle speed drop off before the Cruise Control

drops out or the mDRIVE downshifts – maximizing

the amount of time in top gear. It has been proven

that the greater amount of time operated in top

gear is directly proportional to improved fuel

economy. Mack LoadSense determines the

amount of power needed based upon the load.

This is especially vital with fuel delivery and

applications with less than full payloads and with

any type of diminishing loads such as multiple

deliveries from one vehicle.
