Staff will use these opportunities to differentiate student learning to maximize our students’ engagement, learning and ultimately their well being. These strategies will result in effective instruction of the curriculum while engaging students in authentic meaningful tasks. We are pleased with our results and will continue to reflect on assessment feedback to continue improving our practice and our goal of increasing all students’ achievement. NO AEROSOL SPRAY!

With respect to the healthy

environment at Gibson, we

ask that students not use

aerosols at school.

Deodorant applied after gym

should be roll-on only please.

Our Board transportation system is intended to safely bring

children to and from home. Many of our buses are very full

and on a tight time-line. Please do not ask to have your child

accommodated on a different bus - arrangements to do homework together or socialize need to be arranged without

the use of school buses.

ARE YOUR CHILDREN READY?

As the weather begins to get

colder, parents are reminded to

dress their child appropriately for

outdoor play during recess. Hats,

gloves/mittens, snow pants, coats

and warm winter boots are a must.

It also helps to have a change of clothes at

school in case your child gets muddy or wet.

LET’S KEEP WARM!!

Contributions for the 2013/2014 school year Thank you to our community for your contributions and donations that will ensure we continue to provide our students with a variety of learning opportunities. These funds are used towards presentations, tournament fees and transportation, sports events, lunch subsidies, pizza lunches for winning classes, volunteer luncheon, snacks for those in need, technology in the classroom, etc….. The response from our community to replace a fundraiser with family contributions continues to be favourable and we will be asking families for contributions next Sep-tember, for the 2013/2014 school year. If you have any questions/concerns regard-ing contributions, please contact the office and we will be happy to assist you, or come to a School Council Meeting where we can openly discuss options.

Lost and Found items will be on display the week of November

14 –20. Please ask your child/ren to check for items that belong

to them. When you come in for the parent/teacher interview

please take a moment to check for items your child may have

missed. Unclaimed items will be donated to charity November

21.

Thank you
