Congratulations to all Circle of Excellence recipients for an outstanding 2017! It was a fantastic event recognition on Saturday, March 24, 2018 as Metro South members stepped out in style for a fun evening of celebration and fellowship. Included in the agenda was the Special Awards Committee honoring the 2018 Rookie of the Year, Aimi Rozier and the 2018 Good Neighbor of the Year, Kim Mills. Greetings

This year has started out very strong. I am pleased to announce that the Metro South Association of Realtors has seen an increase in membership and has grown to 1252 members - an increase of over 100 from this time last year. We are considered a Large Board by the GA Association.We had 45 members attend Legislative Day in February. Our mission was to speak to our state representatives and senators to ensure that they knew which bills were important to us. HB 410 regarding HOA closing letters and HB 661 regarding prioritization and separation of tax liens from services were both topics of interest for GA Realtors.What an honor it was to welcome ALL the participants of the Circle of Excellence on stage at the Emory Conference Center. Top award for 2018 went to the Shannon Sells Team with Southside Realtors at over 19 Million in production. Congratulations to all.We are in the middle of awards season as noted above having awarded Rookie of the Year to Aimi Rozier and the Good Neighbor award to Kim Mills. We will be recognizing our Administrator of the year on Tuesday, April 19, 2018 at Eagles Brooke Country Club. We are accepting nominations for Realtor of the Year, Managing Broker of the Year and Affiliate of the Year. Please Consider nominating one of your peers, your broker or an outstanding affiliate member. Deadline for these categories is April 30.Our education committee is up and running with monthly lunch and learns and classes. Be sure to check our calendar for upcoming classes.Lastly, our website will be going through a facelift. Be on the lookout for that in the next 30 days.

The Metro South Association Community Services Committee has donations lined up for the following events:

Through out 2018 at every event, Metro South Association will also be accepting financial contributions for the following Charities:

Checks should be made out directly to the Charity. The Association will make sure these funds are given to the appropriate charity immediately following the event so that each individual receives a receipt from the entity for their contribution. Please remember to do your part in giving back to your community and show community support at every opportunity presented to you.

Most people are aware that REALTORS® know a lot about the communities in which they live. After all, they’re helping home buyers understand the area—the best schools, the easiest route for a potential buyer to get to work from their new place and where to find the most delicious dinner. However, REALTORS® don’t just sit on the sidelines and observe these things about their communities. Instead, REALTORS® all across the country are involved in just about every aspect of life in those communities, getting involved and making those areas better places to live. The National Association of REALTORS® honors the Good Neighbor Awards, which honor REALTORS® who have exemplified the spirit of service to their communities. This year’s Metro South Association Good Neighbor Award Winner, Kim Mills, has done a tremendous job with raising money to help recently slain Locust Grove Officer Chase Maddox's family, as well as two injured officers Deputy Michael Corley & Ralph Sidwell “Sid” Callaway showing her love and giving spirit to others. We are so proud of Kim and her selfless efforts to help the injured and this family during a devastating time of loss.
