89    Well, it's the same thing takes place when you become converted from a sinner to a Christian. See? It changes your own opinions. It changes your own

will. It changes everything that's in you. And it brings you into another life, and gives you another Spirit,

that bears forth another record. See? Then your old life has to die, and the new one has to be born again. And then, see, you're no more the creature

you was, at all. That's when you become behind the Blood, fortified with the Word. Don't try to explain nothing, just believe it and go on. "Lord, I believe. Saviour, raise my faith in Thee, till it can move a

mountain." See? "Lord, I believe, for all my doubts are buried in the Fountain."

REVELATION 3:18  18    I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and [that] the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes

with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

You see, they could not figure out God's love. They thought that love meant no suffering. They

thought that love meant a baby with parental care. But God said that His love was "elective" love. The proof of His love is ELECTION--that no matter what happened, His love was proven truly by the fact

they were chosen unto salvation...

If He did not have a purpose, then He would be the author of frustration and not of peace. His purpose is

that after we have suffered awhile we would be made perfect, be established, strengthened

and settled.

Unless we suffer with Him we cannot reign with Him. You have to suffer to reign. The reason for this is that character simply is never made without

suffering. Character is a VICTORY, not a gift. A man without character can't reign because power apart

from character is Satanic. But power with character is fit to rule. And since He wants us to share even His throne on the same basis that He

overcame and is set down in His Father's throne, then we have to overcome to sit with Him.

"I know your faith." Now he does not say here as He did to the church in Pergamos, "you hold MY faith".

He is not talking about His faith now, but He is commending them for their faithfulness. And as He

does He also mentions their 'patience.' Now faithfulness and patience go together.

In fact patience is the outcome of faithfulness, for it says in James 1:3,

"The trying of your faith worketh patience." There is absolutely no other way in which to

gain patience. It has to come by the trial of our faith.

Page 15: The Furnace #1. MALACHI 3:2 2 But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he [is] like a refiner's fire, and like

Romans 5:3, "Tribulation worketh patience."

How highly God regards this outworking of our patience is seen in James 1:4,

"But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire lacking nothing." God's will for us is Perfection. And that

perfection is patience--waiting on God and waiting for God. This is the process of

character development. How highly God has commended these saints of the Dark Ages. Patient as

lambs led to the slaughter, lovingly, faithfully they served God. That is all they wanted out of life, just

service to their Lord. How great was to be their reward.

E-46 "Buy of Me, gold tried in the fire," said the writer of the Revelation, God speaking through him,

"the gold that's been tried and put to the test." There you are.

E-47 So we have to cast away reasonings. Then if we believe God, we must be borned again, and when a man's borned again, his nature becomes of his Parent. God has no reasoning powers. He just

speaks, and it's so. And we become His children.

No wonder people can't believe in Supernatural. They have no powers to believe with. They try to reason it out. You'll never get it. You just believe it. God said

so; that settles it.

E-52 And maybe these troubles is only done... Maybe the revival has let up to see what we'll do

about it. Maybe sickness struck you. "This cause not was nobody's sin, but that the works of God might be

made known." How do we know if these things happen? Nothing happens in--just commonly. It's not without God knowing it. He knows it. He knowed it at the beginning. And these things happen because

it's a test of faith.

Oh, that refiner's fire, that it'll come out a hundred percent, all the dross melted out, all the unbelief, an

experience then that you know. What the Hebrew children could testify after they went through the fire.

God is a Saviour from fire. They knew it.Daniel knew after the lions' den experience. Lazarus knew after the grave that He was the Resurrection. Amen. After you've went through these tests and

trials, they're glorious to you. Then this was done to test their faith. Maybe it might be tonight that some here has got sickness, and it's a test of faith to

see what you'll do about it.

E-11 A man that professes to be a Christian, must have a Christ-like nature. If it isn't, there's another

nature there which it isn't Christ-like.

If I told you the Spirit of Christ was in me, I must act like Jesus. You must act like Jesus. Your character and

conduct must be molded like that. And the Holy Spirit molds that conduct when He comes into you, when you're really borned again of the Spirit of

God.

E-21 But when He seen that His creation had--had fallen, now His own loving character molded Himself into the Person of Christ. God's own

character of love projected Himself in the man, Christ. As Paul, speaking here, "Thinking it not

robbery, but making himself equal, equal to God," rather. See, His own character molded that kind of a

Person. Oh, no one could ever do that but God.

CHOOSING.OF.A.BRIDE_ LA.CA V-2 N-28 THURSDAY_ 65-0429E

28-2 See, we choose by sight. God choose by character.

Character, there never was a Character like Jesus Christ. It lives in Him, manifests in. We see it true. It's not worldly beauty of Him that attracts His Bride; it is His character, the character of the church that Jesus looks for; not whether it's big buildings; whether it's great denominations; whether it's big membership.

He promised to meet with wherever two or three are gathered together. Truly. That's where the true

believer rests his hopes, is upon that Word of God being vindicated in truth, what it is. Choose by His

Word. Not a worldly loving group, they hate that. No wonder she is divorced from Him, because she's

missed His revelation, and she don't have it. He cares not for her, the way she acts and does, and how

much of this worldly stuff she has; He's looking for her character, the character of Christ.

Page 34: The Furnace #1. MALACHI 3:2 2 But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he [is] like a refiner's fire, and like

CHOOSING.OF.A.BRIDE_ LA.CA V-2 N-28 THURSDAY_ 65-0429E

29-1 Now, just a moment now; that's it. He chooses a Bride to reflect His character, to

which the modern churches of today certainly misses His--His program here a million miles, 'cause they deny this to be the truth. So how could it be? Now, He's looking for the day for that Bride to be formed (Hebrews 13:8) just exactly like it was--like He was.

It's got to be His same flesh, same bones, same Spirit, same everything, just exactly built up,

and them two then become one. Until the church becomes that, they're not one. The character of Him, the Word for this age, must be molded... She must

be molded like He is.
