The Mini Home/Tiny Homes Movement

As nudists, most of us have traveled here and there to experience our freedoms.

Nudist parks, camps, resorts all locations around the world that inspire peace,

beauty, and freedom of The Nude. Sunnier Palms welcomes Alain Plante.

Inspired after building his home in Tadoussac Quebec Canada, located near the St.

Lawrence Seaway, a professional musician and sound engineer (Home Construction

was 10 years in the making), working 142 days straight during the summer season

as an entertainer and recording engineer, Alain Plante wished to escape the harsh

winter of The Nor. Researching options for traveling South he determined locations

in Southern Florida US would be ideal. How to travel and live comfortable in the

warm climate?. A new found Naturist, Alain engineered a utility trailer after his

home and set out to construct a completely modular (Mini Home).

First came fitting concepts into his van. Then came the utility trailer.

Alain’s new home would be a completely functional utility trailer. Kitchen, slide out

bed, living area, sliding under outside deck, and yes---a recording studio, are all

modular and moved on dolly wheels, and can be assembled on the outside deck

with ease. An interior adorned and crafted of Northern Pine, furnished impeccably,

reflect the craftsmanship of its owner. All water, grey water, and power

requirements are compatible with RV safety standards.

The Mini Home/Tiny Homes Movement:

In the United States the average size of new single family homes grew from 1,780

square feet (165 m2) in 1978 to 2,479 square feet (230.3 m2) in 2007, and to 2,662

square feet (247.3 m2) in 2013, despite a decrease in the size of the average

family.[2][3] Reasons for this include increased material wealth and prestige.[2]

Tiny houses on wheels were popularized by Jay Shafer who designed and lived in a

96 sq ft house and later went on to offer the first plans for tiny houses on wheels,

initially founding Tumbleweed Tiny House Company, and then Four Lights Tiny

House Company (September 6, 2012).[6][7] In 2002, he co-founded, along with Greg

Johnson, Shay Salomon and Nigel Valdez the Small House Society.[8] Salomon and

Valdez subsequently published their guide to the modern Small House Movemnent,

″Little House on a Small Planet″ (2006) and Johnson published his memoir, "Put

Your Life on a Diet" (2008)
