INTRODUCTION

Feng Shui (Chinese, from Feng 風 'wind' and Shui 水 'water.') is a

Chinese Metaphysics system used to study and benefit from the natural

energies (Qi 氣) of the living world around us. It is deeply rooted in the

culture of the Chinese and Asian countries and forms a historic pillar

since the time of the First Emperor in Imperial China.

Classical Feng Shui is a specialized body of knowledge in Chinese

Metaphysics that studies the natural energies of the environment,

called Qi. This is accomplished through the assessment of the correct

placement of doors and the appropriate location of important areas

of the house, such as the kitchen and bedroom, based on the natural

external environment. Unlike the common misconception, it is certainly

not about the placement of objects or decorative items such as

crystals, resin dragons and toads.

Grounded in the notion of natural energy flow, this art has been used

since centuries ago to bring about positive prospects to life’s various

key aspects such as wealth, health and career. Despite the advent of

modernization, it is in fact still very much practical and prevalent in the

W H A T A R E F L Y I N G S T A R S ?

The Flying Stars, also known, as the Xuan Kong Flying Stars is a Classical

Feng Shui system that calculates, measures and charts the flow of

energy (Qi) of a building. It shares similar principles of other Feng Shui

schools and systems of Yin and Yang, the Lo Shu numbers, the 24

Mountains and the five elements. However, to say it is the same as

other classical schools is inaccurate since each are focused on

different aspects and area of application.

The unique movements and changes to the positions of the above

variables are charted, and therefore cause different effects to the

inhabitants of the said building. The Flying Stars system takes into

account the timing factor and is essentially a map of the current

energies that change, influence and affect the building and it’s

inhabitants. These variables are sometimes referred to as Stars, and

therefore the name Flying Stars. The analysis of these effects includes

energies that influence wealth, health, luck and relationships.

Most beginners start out practicing Feng Shui and Chinese Metaphysics

using Flying Stars. It is the easiest to learn, and most direct system that

any individual can immediately apply. However, the advanced

practice and usage of the Flying Stars system can be very complicated

and difficult to master at the highest proficiency level. In a way, it is like

the game of golf. It’s very easy to pick up, but difficult to master.

In the application of Classical Feng Shui, direction and location are the

two most crucial aspects to be explored in relation to a property or

house. In this regard, the 9 Palaces method is used. In a nutshell, this

technique divides the interior of the property into 9 grids to determine

the specific areas where Qi of different qualities accumulates.

The demarcation of the 9 Palaces is then substantiated by the

application of the Flying Stars. Under this principle, each Palace is

influenced by the different stars in the outer space, which manifest

different energies to affect the specific areas of the property. In

relation to this, the use of specific areas of the property would bring

about different implications to the occupants of the concerned

property.

In order to tap into the beneficial Qi of the year and the kind of Qi that

The first step is to divide your house into Nine Grids. To do this, you just

2.

 

Next, stand at the center point of your house and establish the North

direction using the compass. On the plan of your house, mark out the

sector in that direction as North and then identify all the other

directions according to the directions of the compass.

 

Using this simple Nine Grids, you will be able to identify the favorable

and unfavorable sectors of your home and make less or more use of

the corresponding rooms. You will also be able to ascertain the

location of your Main Door and determine what kind of energies will

influence your home in 2016.
