The Fiscal Policy

The fiscal policy is currently used to help decrease the deficit we are in. In an attempt to help fix economic problems in late 2007 to 2008, many federal bailout and stimulus packages were issued.

Local level

•Many companies, both large and small, laid off a large portion of their employees, causing a massive drop in unemployment.

•Prices of goods rise causing people to spend less and increasing the deficit.

State level

•Due to increases in unemployment, crime rates jump and the number of homeless rise.

•Job cores and welfare cannot provide for the massive amounts of unemployment.

National level

•Debt increases by a lot.•Leading topic at polls is, ‘how will you

help our economy?’, being a large topic of interest for the elections.

The Economy

•The U.S. issues stimulus packages and bailouts, adding another $455 billion to the deficit. The fiscal policy has continued to add to our deficit, reaching $1.56 trillion in 2010.
