The details: The UTC Day

A day at the UTC is purposefully longer than an average school day, but includes time for enrichment activities and homework so there is still time for family life. Students will be expected to be in from 9am until 5pm, like the world of work.

Social Welfare

The UTC operates a house system. Heads of House, supported by Director of Inclusion - Ms Tomlinson, ensure students receive all the support they need to address and remove any barriers to education and to flourish as confident learners.

Uniform

Sixth formers will be required to wear business dress that will be appropriate for work within the UTC and on professional work placements.

Eating Arrangements

All food is nutritious, freshly prepared where possible and carefully selected to promote a healthy lifestyle. There is a continuous service of food because of the need to break for lunch when the team is ready to do so, like in the work place. The students, staff and visitors eat together and the refectory is used as a place of discussion.

• Free breakfast club
