• Currently it is <4% in India; In China >20%
• Large potential to increase value-addition ESDM manufacturing can
become 10% of GDP
• Communication and Strategic Electronics are key for protecting national security

Origin of STPI
To Promote Software Exports from the country, Govt. of India decided
to:
• Establish Software Technology Parks (STPI) at various locations
across the country.
• Create infrastructure facilities such as high speed data
communication facilities.
• Established in 1991, as an autonomous society under Department
of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY), Ministry of
Communications and Information Technology, Government of
India

“To create a balanced ecosystem that nurtures and supports high value Startups” was the goal behind the creation of incubation centers.
• High Infrastructure costs and lack of working capital funds are some of the
main hindrances for start ups.
• ‘Incubation facility ’ is promoted by STPI and state governments and is
supported by the industry association viz., TiE, Indian Electronics
Semiconductor Association, Academia and the Venture Capitalist.
• The aim is to nurture and handhold the young and emerging entrepreneurs in
their new ventures and innovations.

The park aims at objectives in line with the ESDM vision of the country as outlined in the NPE and other policy documents.
Emphasis on IP creation and Product Development to result in increased domestic value addition.
Unique integration of academia, industry, government and other incubation eco-system elements.
Overall training and development of incubatees to create ‘Electropreneurs’.
Electropreneur Park proposed model designed after doing an in-depth analysis of India ESDM and Incubation eco-system and aligning with the global best practices.
Unique two-tier mentorship programme.
Equity in the incubatee companies will be kept for mentors, and Electropreneur Park stakeholders.

An official communication in the form of an email and also through courier

Selected incubatee companies have to report to EP premises within 4 weeks of
