The British empire was in power in many of the Southern states in Africa, including the Transvaal Republic (modern day South Africa).
The Revolutionary War
The British Empire (King George was the King of Britain at that time).
He was a dictator and a tyrant!
He had control over all the American colonies at that time.
The Causes of RevoltThe Boer War
The British annexation over S.A.
The Boers opposed the British rule over their land.
They wanted their freedom again.
The Revolutionary War
The British were imposing high taxes on the Colonies.
They made the Tea act, the stamp act and many more laws.

What Did The People Do About It?
The Boer War

They were skilled hunters and marksmen which gave them an advantage.
They also had the advantage of knowing the terrain.

Who Helped Out?The Boer War
The former president T. F. Burgers and other people were against British rule and wanted their Independence back.
Paul Kruger and E. J. P. Jorissen went to London in 1877 to try to make reason.
The Revolutionary War
The sons of liberty protested.
George Washington lead the continental army.
Thomas Jefferson wrote the declaration of independence.

What Happened In The End?The Boer War
The war ended in March 1881
South Africa (Transvaal) got its independence back.
The Pretoria Convention (1881) and the London Convention (1884) stated the terms of peace between these two nations
The Revolutionary WarThe war ended in 1783 with the United States of America victorious over Britain.
There was the treaty of Paris laying down terms of peace between the two nations.
They were now an independent country.

The South African Republic is one of Africa’s Strongest Nations.
It has a strong, Independent government.
It hosted the world cup in 2010 :D

They celebrate their independence every year on July 4th.
