EVERYDAY STEWARDSHIP

Sometimes we can feel like we are living the life of Job: everything is going wrong all at the same time. Everyone finds himself or herself in a valley once in awhile. How we got there is not nearly as important as how are we going to get out. Everyday stewards are called to be grateful for all things, large and small. It is easier to be grateful for obvious things like family, health, and life itself, than it is to look for the ordinary gifts in our life. When we cultivate a sense of wonder and thankfulness for the many little things in life we find ourselves more resili-ent in times of trial. We can look out our window and see all those gifts in creation. We can look around our home and see all the things people take too easily for granted. Imagine life without some of the simplest things like clothing, warmth, water, and furniture. There are people in this world that long for all of those things. But God has given them for your benefit and for you to share with others. Before Lent begins in a couple weeks, take the time to create a list of at least 10 things that you normally take for granted. Keep that list handy and maybe add to it from time-to-time. When life seems hard and that cloud seems to hang over our heads, bring out the list and let gratefulness lift you up and out of your plight so that once again you can be about your Father's work. ~Tracy Earl Welliver, MTS Lent is fast approaching! Ash Wednesday is February 14, and we will have Lenten materials out for you to use, including The Word Among Us and Rice Bowls. Take part in the 12:10 p.m. weekday Mass or Stations of the Cross on Fridays during Lent. Be intentional in your faith this Lent!

YOU ARE ENOUGH A Mini-Retreat Series for Women

Please join us for this three-session, “mini”-retreat presented by Mary Guynan and Tonya Labenz, on February, 12th, 19th and 26th, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. in St. Bon’s Social Hall. As women, we try to be it all, do it all, and make it work for everyone in our lives. We tend to hold ourselves to impossible standards and judge ourselves based on all we are not, yet think we should be. This retreat is for women of all ages and will include presenta-tions on prayer, guided meditation, shared reflection and oppor-tunity for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Let God breathe new life in you and know that you ARE ENOUGH. Please sign up! Cost is $30.00 and to register call Belinda, at St. Bonaventure parish, 402-564-7151. Deadline to register is Friday, February 9.

CONSECRATED LIFE World Day for Consecrated Life was celebrated in the Church on Friday, February 2, 2018 and in parishes this weekend, February 3-4, 2018. May they continue to be inspired by Jesus Christ and respond generously to God's gift of their vocation. Please visit the display in the narthex featuring our local religious orders and secular institutes.

SANACION Y ORACION Por Padre Jairo Congote
