ClovER TouRNaMENT The 21st Annual Clover tournament took place in glorious sunshine as 20 teams from all over Waterford battled it out for the coveted trophy. Once again the standard of play was top class from the young footballers of Waterford. Ferrybank entered 4 teams all of whom performed magnificently on the day. After the early games it was Southend, Carrick, Piltown and Ferrybank who progressed to the semi-finals. Southend took care of Carrick and Ferrybank were victorious over Piltown to set an eagerly awaited final between two strong footballing sides. In a classic final the Ferrybank boys raced into a 3-0 lead only for Southend to storm back with 2 goals but Ferrybank held out for a deserved victory and our 3rd Clover Tournament title in a row.

giRlsThe girls have also been busy in May with all the teams in action. The U 14 girls won the cup in style at the RSC defeating Cappoquin in the final. The Perennial Freight cup took place at the club grounds in which Ferrybank were victorious.

May was a busy month in the club with all the leagues coming to an end and the cup competitions in full swing. As we write we have secured a number of titles and are in the final stages of a few more. The 21st Annual Clover Tournament and the Girls Perennial Freight Cup place on the 25th & 26th May. Our Under 11 squad travelled to Killarney for a weekend to take part in a very successful tournament. We also had a worthwhile visit from Celtic FC Head Academy Coach Willie McNab who put on a coaching clinic for our coaches and this relationship with Celtic FC will develop over the near future with further events planned. Our Premier team retained premier status and they & the Youth team also reached cup semi-finals and finals respectfully. So overall there was plenty of action in May.
