CELEBRATING THE HOLIDAYS
Hugh struggled with the ribbon on his gift until Erik
pulled out a Crocodile Dundee knife and made short work
of it!
Oh oh, does this utility bucket mean I
have to come out to the Adopt-A-Street ?
Nothing makes John do the Happy Dance more than
paste wax and a polishing cloth!
Rusty with a very popular train set. It got stolen
several times. Not sure if he ended up with it or not Matthew with his Cobra coffee
table book. Barb wrestling with that train
Sharon said she didn’t care
what was in it—she just liked
the bag!
You could almost have called our annual holiday party a “Thankmas” party as it was just a few days after
Thanksgiving. But everyone there was ready to get their Christmas on with lots of holiday spirit and red
sweaters! Harry Davis MC’d the festivities but not without a little controversy. Each arrival got a numbered
ticket. The person who gets to begin the gift exchange is decided by a ticket drawn by Harry. When he called
the number no one responded and Race, who had the number just after that said he was the first to receive a
ticket. Hmmm...so who was given that ticket? Did we have a phantom Ghost of Mustang Future in attend-
ance? Well, if we did, they didn’t show themselves, so Race started the exchange and thievery. This year’s hot
item for stealing was a train set that, I believe, ended up with Rusty. Everyone had a great time, as always.
The food and service at El Tapatio’s was terrific and our members were all working on their Santa bellies with
all the good food that was available.
We’d like to wish all of our DVMA members and their families a very merry Christmas season and a healthy,
safe and blessed new year!

President Message from Harry Davis
The month of November has been very exciting for all of us. The movie “Ford
V Ferrari” was opened to the public! The Cobra Experience had a special
showing and a few members attended that session. Many DVMA members
met for dinner at Jack’s, and then walked to the Pleasant Hill theatre to see the
movie in reclining seats. They all gathered for a group photo in the theatre
lobby after the show. I saw the movie twice and may even go again! Ken
Miles was beautifully portrayed and Carroll Shelby was brought to life on the
big screen. I thought the movie was fantastic.
The Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco was a wonderful destina-
tion, and many members had a great time. The Presidio grounds was a beauti-
ful location for the Museum. In fact, a whole day could be spent at the Muse-
um and there is a hotel right next door! Walt Disney was an exceptional man,
a family man, an ideas man, and the Museum shows his life story. There is a
café on site that had some great sandwiches.
DVMA will have an annual All-Ford Car Show in June!!! The Show is sched-uled for June 6 at the same location, the Red Robin parking area of The Streets of Brentwood. Plans are being made, a flyer will be forthcoming, and
everyone is invited to participate in making our car show exciting for all members and guests. Volunteers are
needed and appreciated! December was our annual Christmas party and it was an awesome time with partic-
ipants. The train for “8 years old and up” was a big hit and there were other great gifts as well.

FORD V FERRARI by Karen Davis
Wow, what a great movie!! Matt Damon was perfect as Carrol Shelby, and Christian Bales was
terrific as Ken Miles. Everything about the movie was well-done, exciting, fast moving, and with
wonderful race scenes. Harry and Karen, John and Anne, Hugh and Sally, Matthew, Dwight, JT
and Danielle, and Ed met for an early dinner at Jack’s, and then walked to the Century 16 Pleasant
Hill Theatre for the showing of Ford V Ferrari. Erik and Teresa, Juan and Norma, Carol and Paul,
and Bob and Shelbie (Karen’s daughter) met the group at the Theatre.

DVMA - November 16, 2019
by KarenDavis
The day was beautiful but foggy in the San Francisco area on Nov. 16, 2019. DVMA members met in the Sun
Valley parking area and drove to the Presidio in San Francisco. Four cars with Harry and Karen Davis and
Rusty and Marlene Hill, John and Anne Haugrud, Nicole Melton, and Matthew Hawkes left in a parade for-
mation but once in the San Francisco city area, everyone got strung out and arrived at the Presidio separately.
The Walt Disney Family Museum has taken up residence in a majestic building with great views of the nearby
Golden Gate Bridge. Walt Disney’s life and accomplishments are told through paintings, galleries, interactive
exhibitions, and three-dimensional exhibitions. The group first enjoyed the Mickey Mouse exhibition hall, dis-
played with one of everything Mickey or Minnie. Their debuts were in 1928 with four black and white films. It
is said that Walt was Mickey and Mickey was Walt. Walt was a genius with animation, film, and motion pic-
tures.
Taste Catering café on site was open to museum visitors and the public and offered great sandwiches and a
break area. The Museum Store offered lots of great gifts and Disney items. Several drove across the Golden
Gate and over two other bridges to return home to the Concord area. The Walt Disney Museum should be a fu-
ture destination so everyone can enjoy it for the first or second time.
