Temple University Architecture & Arts FacilitiesTour three new arts facilities on the Temple University campus, featuring the latest technology to support a 21st century vision of art education. The first building to be put forward for LEED certification, the Architecture Building is home to the facility management, architecture and

Light refreshments will follow the tour.

The Navy Yard EEB HUBIn 2004, the Navy Yard unveiled a master plan, detailing a comprehensive vision that included specific recommendations for adding more than 12 million square feet of new construction and historic renovation to support office, R&D, industrial and residential development, complemented by commercial retail amenities, dynamic open spaces and expanded mass transit. At full build, the Navy Yard will support more than 20,000 employees and more than US$2 billion in private investment.

University of Penn Nanotechnology BuildingThe result of a US$20 million university alumnus gift, this new facility will make Penn a leader in the field of nanotechnology. The Krishna P. Singh Center for Nanotechnology is a planned 100,000 square foot facility that will serve not only the Penn campus, but the entire Philadelphia region, functioning as a crossroads of multi-disciplinary fundamental and translational research, education and innovation.

Hotel & Travel

Getting Around PhiladelphiaThe Pennsylvania Convention Center and official IFMA hotels are located in Center City. Philly’s compact downtown area allows visitors to explore a number of attractions within a short walk or cab ride from the convention center or any downtown hotel.

SEPTAThe Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) offers an Airport Line from all terminals to connect you to the Center City in less than 25 minutes. The US$11 One-Day Independence Pass allows you to travel on SEPTA buses, trolleys, subways and trains. The pass may be purchased from the conductor on any Regional Rail train, at SEPTA Ticket & Sales Offices and online at shop.septa.org.

On FootPhiladelphia is rated the fifth most walkable city in the U.S. With an easy-to-follow grid design, Center City spans 25 blocks between two rivers: the Schuylkill and the Delaware. In between, the north/south streets are numbered and the east/west streets have tree names (e.g., Walnut, Spruce, Pine).

Colorful directional signs called “Walk! Philadelphia” have been added throughout Center City to help you navigate. Center City District populates the streets with uniformed goodwill ambassadors who will answer questions, provide directions and have radio contact with Philadelphia police.

Recycling: Bins are located throughout the convention center for recycling papers, used cans and bottles, and conference name badges for reuse at future IFMA events.

Reduced Paper Usage: Primary distribution of event information is via website and email. On-site materials and handouts are minimal. Post-conference panel notes, presentations and proceedings will be available on the event website. Session evaluations will be conducted online.

Conference Surplus: Table centerpieces, foam core, and other materials and supplies will be donated to a local school or charity.
