Mr. Bobby Rex Horne
Mr. Bobby Rex Horne 63, passed away Friday, July 15,2016, at CMC Union.
Memorial Services were held on Tuesday, July 19, 2016,in the Chapel of Morgan & Son Funeral Home.
Bobby was born in Anson County on March 10, 1953,to the late Roy and Pauline Sanders Horne. He was retiredfrom Allvac as a machine operator.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother LynnHorne and his niece McKayla Anderson who he raised as a daughter. Bobby is survived by his wife, Tina W. Horne of the home; twochildren, Nicky Horne and his wife Amanda of Unionville andJennifer Randall and her husband James of Charlotte; his grandchildren,Brayden and Justus Horne, and Kale Randall; his brother Jimmie Horneand wife Sandra of Peachland; his sister in law Ellen Horne of Peachland;and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Miller Hatley, 80, of Norwoodpassed away peacefully at the home of her son onWednesday morning, July 13, 2016.
A Celebration of Mary Elizabeth’s Life was held onFriday, July 15, 2016, in Edwards Funeral HomeChapel in Norwood with Rev. Todd McSwain officiating.Interment followed in Norwood Cemetery.
Mary Elizabeth was born September 25, 1935, in Anson County to thelate Guy and Elizabeth Shankle Miller. She was a graduate of AnsonvilleHigh School and was a textile retiree. She was a longtime member ofNorwood First Baptist Church. During the last 32 years she has worked tirelessly with her son andfamily in the establishment of their business, Edwards Funeral Home.Without her help her son would have never been able to fulfill his dream. Other than her family, she enjoyed spending time with her many friendsand especially the Norwood Bojangles crowd. Her memory will live on through her son, grandchildren and great-grandchildren by the example she set before all of us living her faithby deed instead of just words. We will all miss her but rejoice in thefact that she is now enjoying eternal peace and contentment with theOne who does all things well. She is survived by her son, Mitchell Edwards and wife Cindy ofNorwood; four grandchildren, Taylor Edwards and wife Megan of Eugene,Oregon, Lucy Edwards Crump and husband Mason and Hallie EdwardsLambert and husband Derek, all of Norwood and Kenzie Edwards, astudent at Mars Hill University; five great-grandchildren, Rex MitchellCrump, Lillie Elizabeth Lambert, Luke Allen Crump, Ollie Mae Lambertand Wylie Thomas Lambert; brother John Miller and wife Mary Boyd ofNorwood; sister Virginia Miller Hathcock of Palestine; and nephews andnieces whom she loved unconditionally, Chris Miller, Lee Miller, DebbieDavis, David Hathcock and Vivian Barnette. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Hatley; brother LarryLee “Mule” Miller and niece Ann Miller. Mitchell and his family would like to thank Patsy Yarborough and SheilaMorton for their compassionate and loving care, as well as the staff of Hospice.
