It has colour, character andcontrast and is surrounded by sevenmountains. The biggest is MountUlriken at 643m.

The Cities name ‘Bergen’ is translated from

the norwegian word ‘Bjorgvin’

(the meadow among the mountains)

Training.........GENERAL TRAINING: Basic Nurse training is 3 years after which you can specialise......

SPECIALISED TRAINING is achieved through studying whilst you workUsually top up style courses or masters/phd style awards.

PLACEMENT: In Norway they structure placement slightly differently. “ Ukeplan’s ” (week plans) are written fortnightly. There are also monthly reflection Groups with university tutors, a research presentation in the final week and mid point and end assessments!

COURSE STRUCTURE: Similar to uk, with exams, mandatory training, theory And placement but the final year there 3 placements with the extra one being a 4 week specific community based health promotion role.
