The Illinois Elks Children’s Care Corporation

The primary purpose of the Illinois Elks Children's Care Corporation is to manage, finance, and administer programs of medical aid, research and education for the benefit of handicapped and indigent persons under the age of 21 residing within the jurisdiction of the Illinois Elks Association. Your donations also support students seeking degrees in the fields of physical and occupational therapy.

This year marked renewed beginnings for the Corporation. They are excited that the name of the Corporation has evolved into the "Illinois Elks Children's Care Corporation” (IECCC). Not only are they continuing to help children with clinics, medical equipment, and services, but they are expanding. They are very pleased to share with you the news about a new scholarship program that aids college students pursuing a career in special education. Your donations make this possible. In fact the name change enabled them to reach more children and their families by symbolizing a clearer description of what they represent.

The budget for the programs this year had exceeded on million dollars.Again all of these funds are used to directly help less fortunate children. Remarkably, they are one of a small number of charitable organizations that returns 100% of the donations received. The IECCC has invested wisely over the years and the investments are restricted so that only the interest can be expended. The interest from those investments are used only for their operational expenses. This guarantees that every penny donated form individuals like you is directly used to help children in Illinois. You may help out by purchasing a Illinois Elks Children's Care Corporation calendar for $20.00 or a HO DO pin for $10.00 (Honary Donars). These doantions will be sent to the IECCC in your name. Check with your Lodge Secretary if you wish to donate.

Once again, the Wild Game Feed was a grand success. Thanks to all who provided game, helped cook, helped serve and participated in the event.

If you see this face, RUN!

Greeks do have more fun!

Happy Birthday, Mitzie!

Elks Tooth Off List 2008-09.doc

Hope you all enjoyed the few nice days - remember winter isn’t over yet!!!

President Diane Farmer, State President LuAnn Froschauer and Nina Mack attended the WIIM State meeting in Bloomington on February 7th and 8th.

Our Lincoln Emblem, with the Elks, have purchased new blinds for the ballroom.

Just a reminder - LuAnn will be hosting her State Convention June 5th- 7th at the Lincoln lodge. Support LuAnn and attend the convention and installation on Sunday morning. For more information about the convention, you can contact one of the officers.

The Emblem club will be having a sandwich booth at the Illinois Elks State Golf Tournament to be held in Lincoln on July 16th - 19th. We will also be selling homemade cookies, so get your favorite recipes out. We are asking help from our members to work at the sandwich booth and donating cookies. Please keep these dates in mind. There will be more information at a later date.

Community service reports are due. They can be mailed to Lincoln Emblem, P. O. Box 733, Lincoln, IL 62656.

Next meetings are March 5th and April 2nd. Come and join us!!!!!!!!!!!
