Who is exempt?
• Vehicles using an AOBRD
now have until Dec. 16, 2019,
to transition to ELD software.
• Drivers who conduct drive-
away / tow-away operations,
where the vehicle is the
product being delivered.
• Drivers of vehicles
manufactured before model
year 2000 (due to vehicle
connectivity; change from the
proposed rule).
• Short-Haul Drivers are
generally exempt.

Notify your channel manager and Zonar will:
• Present and review Zonar’s product offering with your customer.
• Set the customer up with the required hardware.
• Customize the service package that fits the customer’s needs.
• Create a Zonar account and complete terms and conditions with
the customer.
• Capture the customer’s HOS parameter requirements.
• Create the customer’s account in Ground Traffic Control®.
• Schedule installation between the customer and dealer.
• Provide system training.

1. Spec truck with 813-1B7* Tablet Prep (VT-HU platform, 2020 table pre-wire,
mounting and dock).
o Include selected tablet service package (8Z1 & RZ1 modules) annual terms for 1-5 years**.
2. Three weeks from vehicle delivery date, order tablet in Paragon.
o Paragon: ZSL MOB005H – KIT-ZONAR 2020 TABLET W/CHARGER.
3. Within 2 weeks of vehicle delivery, contact Zonar to schedule customer training/prep.

o Share customer contact information in order for Zonar to reach out and schedule training.
4. Activate Tablet service: At time of delivery, the vehicle must be Product/Warranty
registered in OWL or Registration Wizard with the in-service date entered.
• Detroit Connect registration must also be complete: customer must accept Terms & Conditions and provide
renewal admin & fault-code contact information. Submit in Reg Wizard or on Demand Detroit website
www.demanddetroit.com/technology/connectivity/virtual-technician/registration-form .
5. Customer must complete mandatory forms from Zonar prior to training.
o Forms contain legal and DOT information; requires customer signature (HOS ).
o Customers will also be asked if they want to purchase driver cards and/or RFID tags via Zonar.
6. Customer is trained on tablet and back-office software (Ground Traffic Control).
*Western Star NON-5700 models – 4700, 4800, 4900, 6900 – must use 813-1B6, which only includes pre-wire for tablet service.
Mounting components and docking station can be ordered directly from Zonar.
**Tablet service terms must be equal or less than Detroit Connect subscription term (8D1/RD1 module) length.
