IntroductionPapyrus was very useful to the ancient

Egyptians. It grows along the Nile River, and it is used as paper. It also served as a material for sandals, mats, and sail cloth for light skiffs.

Papyrus is helpful because it’s light fabric allowed the Egyptians to float down rivers, specifically the Nile River.

OriginsPapyrus is considered an important

legacy of Ancient Egypt due to its source of material. Papyrus is a plant that grows along the Nile River. The Ancient Egyptians were the first people to develop a use of paper which they made out of papyrus.

The Egyptians were the first ones to make a material for writing, which was made out of papyrus. They would lay out strips of the stem in layers. They would next add pressure which crushed up the pieces together. That later ended up being a loose, textured, white paper.

To this day, papyrus still grows in the Nile Valley. Papyrus also grows further south on the Nile River in the country of Ethiopia. The reedlike stems of the papyrus plant can grow up to be 3 to 10 feet, which is equal to 0.9 meters to 3 meters.

Therefore, due to the need and development of Papyrus during ancient times, it is considered an Egyptian Legacy.

This is the making of paper

Contribution

The Egyptians would use the papyrus stems, and weave it to make some kind of flotation device. They would then use it to float down the Nile River. Papyrus was also used for books which were mainly bibles back then, which had words written their language known as “hieroglyphics”. They used the method to make paper and then later learned to bind all the pieces of paper together to create a book.

To conclude this legacy, papyrus was used in Egypt as a source of material that served as a very helpful source for the Egyptians

The legacy of papyrus was used as paper, and a material used for lots of purposes. Papyrus was used as paper, the paper would go into books for bibles that have hieroglyphics, as their language. Papyrus was also used as a material for floating down The Nile River, or just rivers in general.

SignificancePapyrus was a material that was made from Cyperus

papyrus, that grew in the lower region of Mesopotamia, in Syria in eastern Sicily.

Papyrus made an impact on our world today by still having that helpful source in our lives today.

If it weren’t for the Egyptians and papyrus, what we have today, paper, which we use for many things in the world today. For example, school, things we print out on our printers, work, and many more. Later in the years, people have improved the making of paper. From, adding the formula of the paper, to different sizes, shapes, and textures.

That is how papyrus has made an impact on our world today, 2015.

Conclusion

That is why papyrus was very helpful. People floated down rivers on papyus, made books out of papyrus, and a very helpful source of material.

If papyrus was never founded like it was, I don’t really know what our world would be like today. Maybe more trees, and maybe every child that attends school would have their own tablet instead of tons of paper.
