A group of students (50 percent of whom are in Law School) have founded Samford University’s

Campus Veterans Association. Advised by Judge Carroll, the CVA seeks to grow a network of student veterans, dependents, and those interested in the military. As a campus-wide University organization, the CVA has been recognized for a preliminary semester. Currently the CVA has 18 members and is gaining more every week.

In addition to building a network of students, the CVA is also addressing veterans issues on campus, state and national levels. Furthermore, the group is in communication with the Office of House Representative’s Martha Roby, a Cumberland alumna, who is helping conquer those issues. If you’re interested in learning more, please email Lieutenant Jordan Thompson at [email protected].

The Lucille Stewart Beeson Law Library first opened its doors twenty years ago in 1995. A 20th anniversary celebration will be held on Wednesday, March 4 from 2:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

in the Beeson Law Library — Friendship Room

Law Library Celebrates Twentieth Anniversary

The architect’s rendering of the Lucille Stewart Beeson Law Library closely matches the finished construction.

Construction on the Law Library was completed in 1995. Prior to construction, the Great Room served as the Law School’s library.

The interior space of the Law Library was much larger than the former space.
