The driver comes with a 72 hour Trail for you to test setup works. You have this driver to continue to function permanently, you must purchase a Licence

from the Blackwire Designs web site.

All Ways set up NVR first!!! Only add driver to composer after you have completed all settings on the NVR Steps to set up NVR, Plug all cameras into Hikvision NVR. Login into NVR from a browser Enable Virtual Host Refer to image for location below steps

1. Click Configuration 2. Click on Network 3. Click on Advanced Settings 4. Click on Other 5. Click on box by Enable Virtual Host to have check mark appear 6. Click on Save

Login into NVR from a browser Setting Authentication Refer to image for location below steps

7. Click Configuration 8. Click on System 9. If have security click on security (not all firmware’s have security) 10. Change both to digest/basic 11. Click Save

Setting up Camera’s for Control 4. Choose the stream Mainstream or Substream Settings for Mainstream (remember this is what the NVR records) Refer to image for location below steps

1. Click Configuration if necessary 2. Click Video/Audio 3. Click Video if necessary 4. Choose Camera 1, 5. Stream Type Main Stream (Normal) 6. Video Type Video Stream 7. Change Resolution to 1920x1080 (highest setting to use for Control 4 T3 Touchscreens) 8. Change Bitrate Type Constant or Variable 9. Change Video Quality Highest or lower 10. Change Frame Rate 15FPS 11. Change Max. Bitrate 1024Kbps or higher 12. Change Video Encoding H264 (must be on H264 to work with Control4) 13. Change H264+ Off 14. Click on Save 15. Click on Copy to and save to cameras you want these settings applied to.

Depending on your firmware version you may not have all the listed or pictured settings on your NVR

Settings for Substream Refer to image for location below steps

1. Click Configuration if necessary 2. Click Video/Audio 3. Click Video if necessary 4. Choose Camera 1, 5. Stream Type Substream (Normal) 6. Video Type Video Stream 7. Change Resolution to 960*480 see Note 1 below before image 8. Change Bitrate Type Constant or Variable 9. Change Video Quality Highest or lower 10. Change Frame Rate 15FPS 11. Change Max. Bitrate 1024Kbps or higher 12. Change Video Encoding H264 (must be on H264 to work with Control4) 13. Click on Save 14. Click on Copy to and save to cameras you want these settings applied to. This may not work on

substream’s it depends what firmware is on NVR. Note 1 - highest you can set is 1920*1080 if available. Never use anything that ends in *360 (640*360) it will cause green lines on the T3 Touchscreen display

Settings for Network Refer to image for location below steps

1. Click Configuration if necessary 2. Click Network 3. Click Basic Settings 4. Click TCP/IP 5. Uncheck DHCP 6. IPv4 Address use what dhcp gave or change to what you want to use 7. IPv4 Subnet Mask should not have to change. 8. IPv4 Default should not have to change 9. MTU should not have to change 10. Uncheck Auto DNS 11. Preferred DNS Server change to 8.8.8.8 12. Alternate DNS Server change to 8.8.4.4 13. Click on Save

Check the port settings Refer to image for location below steps

1. Click Configuration if necessary 2. Click Network 3. Click Basic Settings 4. Click Port 5. Note HTTP Port standard setting is 80 or change and note for the Control 4 Driver 6. Note RTSP Port standard setting is 10554 in North America, 554 everywhere else or change and

note for the Control 4 Driver 7. If you change standard settings click save.

HTTPS Port 443 do not change Server Port 8000 do not change Remember to note any changes to port numbers you have changed, they will be used in Control 4 NVR driver

In Composer 2.81 and higher Add camera drivers for the amount of cameras are going to be used. IE 6 cameras 6 copies of driver need to be added to project. NOTE: camera channel numbers you are using Camera Channel numbers are the same as the numbered ports you plug into in the NVR Remember to click on set button after each entry

1. Enter Host/IP Address The static IP set in NVR 2. Enter HTTP Port 80 (or new port number if changed) 3. Enter RTSP (H.264) Port 554 or 10554 (or new port number if changed) 4. Under authentication Check Required 5. Enter Username admin (do not change in NVR) 6. Password NVR password used for admin 7. Change Type to basic if you have no security settings on NVR 8. Leave Aspect Ratio at 16X9 9. Licence Status 72 Hour Trail should be displayed 10. Licence Key Enter the licence key you purchase to work permanently 11. H264Stream Choose stream that works best with Control 4. 1 is main stream,

2 is substream and press set 12. Camera Channel Number Set Camera Channel number for each camera

IE: camera on port 5 is camera 5 for the driver.

Now to testing if you have followed all the steps you will see snapshot and H264 stream

Double Click Driver to see Snapshot

Change Snapshot to H264 or H264I to see live picture you will see the frame change numbers, it may take a few seconds to load

Now let’s test

1. Click on GetSnapshot URL 2. Click on Test 3. Check Status This is what a pass looks like.

This is what a fail looks like The message in step 3 is has the info to fix.

A 400 series message means 1 of the following on driver Camera Properties Under authentication the check required was missed. Login was not typed in correctly it is case sensitive if it is Admin on NVR and you type admin, it will not work. Password was not typed in correctly it is case sensitive. Another error code on the test for H264 URL is GStream error, check that on NVR camera settings are set to H264

Common Settings Not checked or Noted on NVR My H264 picture is grey. Not Turning off Encryption, see Turn off the encryption, at very beginning of instructions

Missing Camera. Not checking that all cameras are on line

G streamer error after using Camera Test. Not configuring the mainstream or sub stream and setting it to H264 on NVR

Getting green lines on T# touchscreen. Not setting to correct resolution

Not checking upload speed (requires at least 12mb per second for you to see camera on navigator remotely)

Not setting the IP of NVR to Static
