Introduction• Did you know that some frogs are

herbivorous and some frogs are carnivorous? C’est notre projet. We are looking at the different kinds of food that frogs eat. La raison que nous choisissons la nourniture vest parce que nous avons pense que. C’est e’tre inte’ressant! We hope you enjoy learning about the diet of a frog!

What They Eat

Frogs eat brightly colored fruits and then later excrete the seeds. When they are eating, they swallow the food whole. Normally they eat insects, worms, spiders and centipedes.

Large Frogs

• Large frogs may eat mice or small snakes. Sometimes, but not normally, they eat dead insects.

Your Own Frog

• If you have your own frog, you need to provide them with insects which are at least still struggling. For captive frogs, mealy worms are a favorite. They really like their worms laid in flour, oat bran or unprocessed bran. Frogs have to be careful when eating mealy worms for several reasons. The worms have no calcium. The worms are mostly fat and and may cause constipation in smaller frogs.

How do Frogs Drink

• Frogs don’t drink. They absorb water from their surroundings though their skin.

A Frogs Tongue

• A frogs tongue is covered with mucus so that prey sticks. A frog often retracts it’s eyes when it swallows food.

Conclusion

• We learned a lot about the 8 frogs that live in Manitoba. Nous ne pouvons pas croire que quelques grenoulles mangent les petites souris et les serpents. C’ e’ tait inte’ressant. We hope you had fun watching our project! We’re glad we did this because now we know more about the frogs that live in our backyard and now we can tell them apart!!!!!
