Dear Parishioners, The season of Advent begins on the 30th November, 2014 the First Sunday of Advent. This year we have a special grace of preparing with two retreats; one in English and one in Spanish. On 22nd Novemver,2014 Fr. Jaime Robledo, an instructor at St. Patrick Seminary and University, will guide the retreat for the Spanish– speaking community. On the 6th December,2014 Fr. David Pettingill will the guide a retreat in English. We are grateful for their gracious presence among us. The season of Advent makes our journey toward Christmas more meaningful by revealing our deepest longings and greatest hopes,. It teaches us to focus all our desires on Jesus Christ’s coming-first into the world some two thousand years ago, second into our hearts right now and finally in His com-ing at the end of time. Estimados Feligreses: Este Tiempo de Adviento empieza el 30 de Noviembre 2014 con el primer domingo de Adviento. Este año estamos bende-cidos preparandonos con dos retiros uno en Ingles y otro en Español. El 22 de Noviembre el Padre Jaime Robledo, profesor de el Seminario de San Patricio y de la Universidad nos guiara en nuestro retiro en Español. El 6 de Diciembre el Padre David Pettingil guiara el retiro en Ingles. Estamos agradecidos por su presencia entre nosotros. El tiempo de Adviento hace que nuestro viaje hacia Navidad sea mas significativo mediante la revelacion de nuestros an-helos mas profundos y mas grandes esperanzas y nos enseña a centrar todos nuestros deseos en Jesucristo viniendo por primera vez al mundo hace unos dos mil años , quien ocupa un segundo lugar en nuestros corazones en este momento y finalmente en su venida a el final de el tiempo.

As we give Thanks for the many blessings that God has be-stowed on us, we are reminded of our call to share with the families in our community who look to us for help. The St. Vincent de Paul Society is preparing for an increase in requests from families and individuals facing emergency situations during the holiday season. We will be assisting 400 families between Thanksgiving and Christmas with food, clothing, housing assistance and other basic survival necessi-ties. SVdP is the safety net for those in need in our communi-ty. To kick off our Thanksgiving Food Drive SVdP members will greet you after Mass today with grocery bags containing a wish list of food items for our food pantry. We invite you to fill up the grocery bag and return to the donation box in the vestibule of the church or bring as an offering to Thanksgiv-ing Day Mass. Thank you for your generosity.
