Martinez Email:[email protected] Course Title: HS-FS3 Spanish Course Description: This course is designed to prepare students for the LOTE exam. Students will study the culture and grammar of the Spanish language by listening, speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish. Every day in class we will speak, read and write in the target language. I will be using JUPITERGRADES, an online grading system where you can check your child’s grades on a regular basis. You will be receiving information on how to set up your login name and password. Course Expectations: Students will demonstrate the ability to comprehend formal and informal spoken Spanish. Students will acquire vocabulary to allow accurate reading of newspapers, magazine articles, short and long stories. Students will compose essays. Students will express ideas orally with accuracy and fluency. Students must come prepared to class (notebook/binder and pens etc.). Homework will be given daily. Homework is due the following day. Absent students should submit assignments on the first day of their return with partial credit given for up to three days after return. After three days NO CREDIT will be given for the assignment. Students are expected to participate, by speaking in class on a daily basis. Assignments are to be handed in on time Cutting, tardiness, and/or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. If any situations occur, the teacher will contact parents, Deans or Assistant Principals. Essays and projects are to be proofread and handed in on time. If a student is absent the day of an exam or quiz they are to bring a note and they will be given a date and time to make up what they have missed. A ZERO will be given for any exam or quiz that is not made up. Class Rules: Be on time & prepared (bring all materials) Be respectful (classmates, your teacher, your school property) Listen carefully (Follow directions the first time they are given & stay on task) Raise your hand to be recognized before speaking.
