It is so inspiring to come to our centre, and see all the vari- ous activities and art events occurring. Some noted items I would like to share with you: Membership fees: Your board of directors voted at the Feb. Board meeting to keep the increase in our membership fees to a minimum for 2014-2015. While we are noting that all of our expenses are increas- ing, and your Board is committed to maintaining an excellent venue for your classes, workshops, studio space, exhibition hall and gift shop, we are pleased to present membership fees for the upcoming year at $115.00 for individual, $170.00 for family. Your membership fees are due June 1 st . Financials: A huge thank you goes to our accountant, Richard Hamilton. Richard has volunteered his official services to overseeing our finances. We are happy to report that ICAC now complies with stan- dards set by Revenue Canada, non-profit regulations and are now in excellent financial/legal position to apply for grants. I also wish to extend my appreciation to our members who worked so hard to support Richard in this endeavor. Our Board, at our last meeting, set four goals for the upcoming year: 1. to track our volunteer hours 2. to develop a new program format with our new logo 3. to create a detailed year plan 4. to continue to work on an improving office procedures We will keep you informed of our successes as we strive to continually improve ourselves at ICAC. Donors and sponsors: a very special mention goes to all of our members who chose to direct their dona- tion dollars to our Art Centre. Because of our donors, we are able to offer our memberships at very af- fordable prices, and to continue to have workshops, classes, and studio time, to benefit all of our mem- bers. We also thank all of our members who continue to use the toonie tin. Keri Axon - Chairperson Ingersoll Creative Arts Centre Ingersoll Creative Arts Centre, 125 Centennial Lane (Victoria Park), P.O. From the Chair It has been a very busy start to 2014 at ICAC. It is so inspiring to come to our centre, and see all the vari-ous activities and art events occurring.

Some noted items I would like to share with you: Membership fees: Your board of directors voted at the Feb. Board meeting to keep the increase in our membership fees to a minimum for 2014-2015. While we are noting that all of our expenses are increas-ing, and your Board is committed to maintaining an excellent venue for your classes, workshops, studio space, exhibition hall and gift shop, we are pleased to present membership fees for the upcoming year at $115.00 for individual, $170.00 for family. Your membership fees are due June 1st.

Financials: A huge thank you goes to our accountant, Richard Hamilton. Richard has volunteered his official services to overseeing our finances. We are happy to report that ICAC now complies with stan-dards set by Revenue Canada, non-profit regulations and are now in excellent financial/legal position to apply for grants. I also wish to extend my appreciation to our members who worked so hard to support Richard in this endeavor.

Our Board, at our last meeting, set four goals for the upcoming year:

1. to track our volunteer hours 2. to develop a new program format with our new logo 3. to create a detailed year plan 4. to continue to work on an improving office procedures We will keep you informed of our successes as we strive to continually improve ourselves at ICAC. “Breaking through the door of perception” Michael A. Hunter likes to get under people’s skin. A Woodstock contemporary acrylic artist, Hunter likes to make collages using everyday stuff to comment on how our society throws things away. Some items are mounted on wood back-ing and others framed in glass. When he is working, these objects dictate both their mes-sage and his creative process. Hunter first became interested in art when he was in grade 9. He followed this up by attending and graduating from arts programs at both Fan-shawe College and the University of Windsor. He has shown his work in London, Ontario, Con-necticut and Texas. Hunter likes to create emotion, both good and bad. However, he enjoys bad emotions more because he likes to get under people’s skin. And his artwork does this, with subject matter rang-ing from fish in water to swastikas. His next formal exhibit will be wherever his art takes him. He can be followed on www.absoluteart.com, where more of his works are on display. Michael A. Hunter’s current show at the Ingersoll Creative Arts Centre, Breaking through the door of perception, opens Sunday March 2 and runs until March 30. Calling all Volunteers Wow-Since we have started tracking volunteer hours, we have 328 hours recorded. Please remember to sign in the volunteer book. We know that there have been many more volun-teers than are shown in the book. Thank you to all for giving to the centre the gift of your time. Volunteering is what makes the centre run smoothly. - Gladys Bidner School Art Program: Thanks to the volun-teers in the potters’ studio for organizing, and volunteering their time and talents to put on a very successful day with Royal Roads Public School. Fifty five Grade 7 and 8 students learned to cre-ate pencil hold-ers, elephants bowls and other designs using clay.

Congratulations! Carol McLean, one of our very active ICAC and Oxford Quilt Guild members, received the Caring Canadian Award at Queens Park on Feb. 17th. Carol was presented the award by the Honourable David C. Onley the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario. The award recognizes living Canadians and perma-nent residents who have made a significant, sus-tained, unpaid contribu-tion to their community, in Canada or abroad.

Notes From the Gift Shop The Gift Shop will be undergoing a refreshening this spring. We will be re-painting, putting in new display hangers and shelves. In order to facilitate this we are re-questing members to check on their articles in the gift shop and to please remove any ar-ticles that have been in the shop for over 10 months. This will help with some of the con-gestion in the shop. If you are concerned about damage if you leave any of your arti-cles during the ‘remodelling’ please remove them. There was a committee that met last year to review criteria for the gift shop. This criteria was passed by the board late last year. Please find these listed below. The gift shop will be updating its recording system as we now have a laptop to track the articles for sale. Thank you to all the members for your pa-tience as we try to implement these changes.

Nancy Wilder
