The Community Partner You Can Count On United Way of Central Oklahoma is working towards a stronger, healthier and more compassionate community by supporting a network of 55 locally- focused Partner Agencies and 102 health and human service programs. Your contributions are used to surround our community’s most critical needs, address multiple issues and offer help and hope where it’s needed the most. To meet the critical mental health needs as a result of the pandemic, 598,735 Central Oklahoma neighbors had access to counseling, crisis intervention, suicide prevention and/or substance abuse treatment. 30,273 households received assistance to prevent homelessness. 28,740 youth gained experiences and skills to attain academic success. 29,412 Central Oklahoma seniors and disabled adults were provided with care, support and enrichment activities. 103,054 Oklahomans were connected to local social services during the COVID-19 pandemic through 2-1-1. United Way of Central Oklahoma funds 102 programs at 55 Partner Agencies. These agencies are on the frontline helping residents of our community live healthier, happier lives.

United Way of Central Oklahoma is committed to responsible stewardship and is diligent in keeping our combined administrative and fundraising costs well below the national standard for nonprofit organizations. Our Partner Agencies

are held to the same high standard and are reviewed annually by our volunteer-led Community Investment process.

RAISING FUNDSUnited Way of Central Oklahoma (UWCO) raises funds.

FOLLOW-UPCI volunteers conductfollow-up evaluations through final reports on results achieved.

DISTRIBUTION OF FUNDS RAISEDFollowing approval, the funds are distributed among UWCO’s Partner Agencies.

REVIEW OF AGENCIESCommunity Investment (CI) donor volunteers review agency applications, budgets, audits, performance histories and program outcomes. Then they visit Partner Agencies to see firsthand the use of UWCO funds.

DECISION PROCESSCI volunteers discuss funding proposals for each program. The CI Committee operates within the UWCO’s board of directors to review and balance funding proposals from the volunteers, then submits a final proposal to the UWCO’s board of directors for approval.

HOW ARE UNITED WAY DONATIONS INVESTED?Each year, through our Community Investment process, more than 200 donors volunteer their time to review agency funding requests, financials and programs to ensure contributions are allocated to proven, high-quality programs that create long-term impact for anyone in need.
