Last month I announced the appointment ot Tam Boscarino as Technical Adviser for U.S.A. and cranada. Walt has worked on !If .G... 1:0 the past and his knowledge and experience will.ltm s ure, be of great valne to our American members. I have recently been 1:0 t ouch with Peter Wood of the Westwood Portway Group (Portway Road. T'Nyi'ord.Bttckingham, l'IK18.4El'f). I notice ~at BL Herita ge Ltd are offering photocopies of Y-~e instruction manuals and handbooks and I have contacted them ·for details. I hope to tell you more next month. This tren d by BL to r ediscover their illustrious- past is to be congra tulated. It's long overdue ! Talking ~~ original literature brings ~ to CoIin ~e~whos e d ouble garage t'tlIl of Y-Types (2~!) and spares in Bognor Regis,I recently Visited. Oolin has the cha.sis r4888. This car apparently once belonged to La dy Samuelson and was a well kept and low-mileage example until sh~ sold it and the new owner promptly rolled the car and wrte-off the body! Anyhow,to get to the pofntrCoIin mapged to retrieve from the car some of the- original brochures which had corne with it when it was originally purchased. We managedpby

Lastly, I mentioned in the Editorial to issue no.25 the saloon-type fitting of the windscreen wipers on Y!T/EIR 4264. Rob Haywood~the owner~ informs me that this was a tone-offt modification to replace the burned out original. motor.

He is an enthusias-tic owner of' a number of interesting ears and is willing to tackle any job - from fn11 engine overhauls to coachwork and trimming. taking in expert welding as well. A real engineer of the "ol.d scbool t -thongh NOT' old. For- my shock absorber work he made up several peculiar-shaped sp~ers which he still has - so if anyone wants front shockers sorted~get over toere !
