Objective: Add one-digit numbers to two-digitnumbers with and without regrouping andrecord the sum in horizontal form.

Essential Understanding: The traditionalalgorithm for adding a two-digit number and aone-digit number starts by adding ones.Sometimes 10 ones need to be renamed as 1ten. Then the tens are added.
