ABOUT THE COURSE Don Quijote is a literary masterpiece over four hundred years old. Fundamentally, it’s a book about readers reading, or misreading, and of writers writing, or failing to write. This work is essential to anyone wishing to understand the complexities of the modern novel. We will examine many forms of narrative innovations within the novel and identify how Miguel de Cervantes subverts common narrative reliability, fuses various narrative genres, plays with levels of fiction and how he spins the relationships between art and life and between reader and text.
