The Church of Christ is Different from

Paganism because of its belief in one God 1 Corinthians 8:5-6 (NKJV)

5 For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as there are many gods and many lords), 6 yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live.

Acts 17:24, 28 (NKJV) 24 “God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands.

Churches of Christ are Different from

Judaism because of its belief in Jesus as the Son of God The very Bible that reveals that there is only

one God, predicts a coming Messiah Prophesies

The Church of Christ is Different from

Catholicism in its belief that there is only one mediator between God and man 1 Timothy 2:5 (NKJV)

5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus

The Church of Christ is Different from

Islam because of its believe in the Triune God The Bible teaches that there is one God consisting of

three persons: the Father, Son and Holy Spirit We see this in Jesus sending the Holy Spirit

John 14:16-17 (NKJV) 16 “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever-- 17 “the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.

All three persons are God

Jesus is declared to be God Hebrews 1:8 (NKJV)

8 But to the Son He says: “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your Kingdom.

Jesus’ miracles prove it “And truly Jesus did many other signs in the

presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name” (Jno. 20:30-31)

All three persons are God

The Holy Spirit Acts 5:3-4 (NKJV)

3 But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself? 4 “While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.”

The Church of Christ is Different from

Denominationalism because of its regard for the authority of the scriptures The scriptures are our only guide

1 Peter 4:11 (NKJV) 11 If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God….

Colossians 3:17 (NKJV) 17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NKJV) 16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Why is the Church of Christ spoken against?

Because we are Different!
