The Challenger June 2016 From the Desk of the DOM: For the last year and a half Bryan Baptist Association has been in partnership with Beacon of Hope Church in Grand Island, Nebraska. Last year we took a mission trip group from the association to put a roof on one of their buildings. This year we will take another group to help with prospect discovery and follow-up. This is a prime occasion for involvement by folks from churches which either do not or cannot pursue such a trip. The group will leave July 23rd and return the 29th. The fee of $75 per person will go to cover to cost of meals. If assistance is needed with the fee, please do not allow that to keep you from going. Help is available. The trip will be open to members of BBA churches who are 18 years of age or older. Those younger who wish to sign up will be considered on a case by case basis but absolutely must be accompanied by an adult 21 years of age or older, preferably a parent or guardian. We will need people to help with door to door contact, food collection, prayer walking, prayer driving, concerted prayer, cooking, personal witnessing, and more. There will be a meeting at the BBA offices on Tuesday, June 14th at 6:30 p.m. for all interested parties. This meeting will be for information purposes only. Attendance does not indicate your commitment to go on the trip. Come check out this opportunity to be used of God in the spread of His good news. I look forward to seeing you there. Tim Bowen, DOM

From the BBA Prayer Ministry Team Leader When we think of God and our sin, we have to

consider God's marvelous love. When He acts, He acts in holy love. His love is not a soft, easy attitude of

His mind and heart that looks upon our sin as a little thing. How could our sin be little when it achieves

separation between us and God? We would have to agree the holy love of God acted in grace through

Christ at the cross. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says, "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." Since we are made the righteousness of God, don't you think we should be walking in righteousness?

Don't you think we should be dying to our selfishness, greed and pride daily. Don't you think we need to have the discipline to speak words of edification and not the

opposite. Don't you think we need to be led by the Spirit and die to the flesh. Don't you think we need to be bringing honor to our Savior in our walk and in our talk, how about our thoughts? For us to draw near to

God and walk in our Savior's steps, we must have quality time with Him in prayer and Bible Study.

In His Grip, Bro. Anthony
