Continuing professional development (CPD) and practice tools

85,000views of 51 live-streamed CPD/educational webinars took place, with a high level of member engagement.

700Mainpro+® credits were earned through the CFPC’s COVID-19 e-learning course.

150reflections and practice management plans have been completed through Practice Management Prep, a new tool offered to help residents and early-career family physicians transition into practice.

1,664CPD programs were accredited by the CFPC National office, provincial Chapters, and university CPD offices.

800Mainpro+ credits were earned through the CFPC’s Antenatal Care for Providers e-learning course.

Family Medicine Forum (FMF)

conference.

Family medicine training

Record numbers of candidates participated in CFPC examinations:

1,854 candidates sat the Certification Examination in Family Medicine in fall 2020.

1,762 candidates sat the Certification Examination in Family Medicine in spring 2021.

322 candidates sat the Examination of Added Competence in Emergency Medicine in fall 2020.

The postgraduate accreditation of family medicine and enhanced skills programs continued virtually:

33 sites were visited.

14 enhanced skills programs were visited.

51 CFPC surveyors participated in the visits.

2,100 residents/graduates participated in the Family Medicine Longitudinal Survey in 2020.

Foundation for Advancing Family Medicine (FAFM)

FAFM

5 millionin funding was received from the Canadian Medical Association Foundation to launch the COVID-19 Pandemic Response and Impact Grant (Co-RIG) Program.

2 millionin funding went to 15 CFPC member–led initiatives in the first phase of the Co-RIG Program to support short-term innovations in response to the pandemic.

100,000 in funding was allocated to the Global Co-RIG Program, in collaboration with the Besrour Centre for Global Family Medicine, for projects in low- and middle-income countries.

10,000is the value of the new Racialized Communities Leadership Grant in Family Medicine.100,000

was raised through the FAFM’s new end-of-year Giving Campaign to support family medicine research, education, and service.
