Nurturing Agent Partnerships
By day, Susie Button devotes her time to serving the needs of Ohio Mutualagents in Rhode Island and Connecticut as the Senior Territory Field Managerfor that region. In her spare time, you may find her perusing nursery stock at anearby garden center or cultivating her garden at home. Button conceived aclever way to combine both of her passions as springtime arrived and she hitthe road to call on her valued agent partners.
Before making agency visits in Rhode Island, Button purchased a variety ofpotted green plants and packaged them in lively colors with ribbon. She addeda card with a handwritten note inviting her agents to “Come Grow With Us”.
“I thought how fun it would be to bring something colorful and upbeat to ouragents that will grow (with a little TLC) and be a symbol of of their commitmentto grow their business with Ohio Mutual,” shared Button.
Ty Bowers, Commercial Lines Underwriter for the area, traveled with Buttonfor the visits and together they presented the plants to the agents and discussed ideas on ways to grow theirbusiness with Ohio Mutual.
Button believes that good relationships are vital to success in anybusiness. “Too often, the little things that can truly matter in building andmaintaining relationships are left out of the equation in today’s fast-pacedworld,” said Button. “A token, a verbal or written acknowledgement of howmuch we value that relationship can go a long way on the road tosuccess."
