Dr. Atkinson’s primary academic and research focus has been in the areas of violence, relational trauma, and healing and recovery for Indigenous peoples. Dr. Atkinson, a Jiman, Aboriginial Australian, holds a
BA from the University of Canberra, and a Ph.D. from Queensland University of Technology.
Join us for lunch to discuss her recent book Trauma Trails, Recreating Songlies: The Trangenerations Effects of Trauma in Indigenous Australia and learn more about her current work supporting research opportunities for emerging Indigenous researchers in Australia, Timor Lester, and Papua New Guinea.
