WOMEN’S CLUB ANNUAL CRAFT FAIR SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 18, 2017

10am to 3pm IN VILLANOVA HALL

Items for the bake table can be dropped off Friday

Nov 17 or Saturday Nov 18. Thank you in advance.

A NOTE FROM THE PASTOR

It is hard to believe it is already November. Here are a few things that will be going on.

Fr. Agustin is leading a pilgrimage to Fatima and Lourdes. He left November 7th and returns November 22nd. At the end of the pilgrimage, he will be staying in Spain for a few extra days. While he is away, there will be communion services on Thursday and Friday (11/16 & 17). On those days, there will be no priest available for the sacrament of the sick.

On Saturday, November 18th, the St. Thomas Women’s Club will be having its Craft Fair in Villanova Hall.

The Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service will be held Sunday evening, November 19th at the Congregational Church in Wilmington. The service begins at 6:00 PM.

On the weekend of November 18th & 19th, we will present the annual financial report for both parishes. For those who do not like it presented at Mass, I would remind you that I am required to do it by the diocese.

We are hosting a St. Andrew’s Dinner on Tuesday, No-vember 28, 2017. A St. Andrew’s Dinner is a dinner host-ed by Cardinal Sean to promote vocations to the priest-hood. Young men from area parishes will be invited to attend. The evening begins with a prayer service in the church. Then there is the dinner followed by some talks by seminarians, the vocation office and finally the Cardinal. I want to thank our pastoral associate, Tom Griffin, for working with Chancery in setting up this event. Our spon-sorship of this event is all part of meeting one of our goals in our pastoral plan.

Soup for the Soul will begin on Wednesday, November 29th at St. Dorothy’s Church. It is a four-week Advent pro-gram that will begin with some reflections in the church and then the participants will be invited downstairs for some homemade soup and conversation.

The St. Dorothy’s Christmas Fair will be held on Decem-ber 9, 2017 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM in the basement of St. Dorothy’s Church.

The Grand Annual collection has started. The intent of the Grand Annual collection was to generate funds for capital improvements. Unfortunately, in the past couple of years we had to use it for ordinary operating expenses. It is my hope that with the continued success of the increased offer-tory campaign, we will be able to set aside the funds from the Grand Annual for capital improvements. Thank you in advance for your support of this collection.

Well I guess that is it for now. Until next time, take care. Fr. Earley
