Birthdays are always times to
celebrate life, to reminisce about
growing up, to take stock of where we
are and where we want to go. These
kinds of reflections are a bit more
difficult to do as a nation, but the
Fourth of July does help us to pause,
reflect on where we are as a country
and, in this election year, where we are
headed. We get to take a moment and
thank God for the gift of our nation,
founded on the principles of freedom,
equality and truth.
Truly, as a nation, we have
realized abundance in our time. Our
tables are filled, our speech is free,
our ability to worship is our own. As
a nation and as individuals, we have
been abundantly blessed with resources,
talents and strengths. For this, we must
be grateful. It is worthy of celebration.
But at the same time, we must
be well aware that not everyone shares
equally in all of this abundance. And
until that time, the Kingdom of God that
Jesus speaks of so prominently in our
Gospel is still a long way off.
Prayer for our Country
God of every good gift,
we thank you for the gift of our nation.
Bless our country
and help all of us to work together
for peace.
Guide those who govern us, and help
them to work for the good of all.
Make us generous in sharing our gifts
with other people.
Teach us to do your will
and to grow in our service to others.
Lord Jesus Christ,
look on the people of our land and
bless us all.
Help us to be brothers and sisters
to all the world
and to work for peace and love.
Be with us, Jesus, and bless our country,
for you are our Lord and Savior forever.
Amen.
Cup O’ Joe
Blessed 4th of July!
May God bless you and your loved ones as we celebrate our Independence Day this Saturday. May you continue to thank God for the blessings this land
contains and all those who have served to uphold the freedom we enjoy. Galatians 5:1 “For freedom Christ set us free”
Come Back to Mass
As I’m sure you are aware, we have returned to Mass at 25% capacity. What that means is that we are allowed to have up to 25% of the people that can safely fit within our worship spaces, which would then allow for social distancing to take place within the liturgy.
What do those numbers look like? Holy Rosary = 175; St. Ann = 80; Ss. Peter & Paul = 125 (approximately). These past weeks we have not approached that number – so come pray with us! We have room!
We are still asking that people wear a mask when they come and arrive early as we will be taking temperatures at our entryway(s). Ushers will assist with seating so as to make sure we abide by the recommendation of the CDC to social distance within our churches.
Our Mass schedule will be the same as it was pre pan-demic, which looks as follows:
Saturday – Holy Rosary (4:00 p.m.); Ss. Peter & Paul (4:00 p.m.)
Sunday – St. Ann (7:45 a.m.); Ss. Peter & Paul (9:30 a.m.); Holy Rosary (10:00 a.m.)
Come pray at the Table of the Lord!
You Tube Channel
We will continue to be uploading one of our Saturday or Sunday Masses on to our You Tube Channel on each of our websites.
Parish Office Hours
Holy Rosary’s & St. Ann’s parish offices will be open from 9 am to Noon Monday-Thursday and SS. Peter & Paul’s office hours will be 9 am to 2 pm Monday—Thursday. Call your office for an appointment if those times do not work for you.
Monday, July 6 all parish offices and churches will be closed in observance of the Fourth of July holiday.
Adoration/Exposition of the Eucharist
If you are looking for a spiritual uplift, hoping to spend some quality time in prayer, or simply desirous to be in a familiar space with the company of parishioners, come spend an hour before the Blessed Sacrament. Mondays 4-5:00 p.m. (Ss. Peter & Paul), Wednesday 4:30-5:30 p.m. (Holy Rosary) and Fridays 4-5:00 p.m. (St. Ann) our churches will be open for you to come, sit in silence and spend time in prayer. All are invited and welcome.
Sacrament of Reconciliation
Now that we have begun our regular Mass schedule on weekends, we will also go back to our regularly sched-
uled Reconciliation days and times (HR – Saturdays at 3:00 p.m.; SPP – Saturdays at 3:15 p.m.).
Daily Mass
We have begun Daily Masses once again. Tuesdays at 8:30 a.m. – Ss. Peter & Paul; Wednesdays at 8:30 a.m. – Holy Rosary; Thursdays at 8:30 a.m. – St. Ann. All Mass-es are held in their respective church buildings. All are welcome.
Cup O’Joe Podcast
There is a podcast link on Ss. Peter & Paul’s homepage (ssppkiel.org) which connects you directly to the audio version of a daily (M-F) Cup o’ Joe podcast. Joe reads the gospel for the day and a gives a brief reflection.
If you listen to podcasts on your phone, you can also subscribe to Cup o’ Joe through iTunes or Spotify.
Anointing of the Sick
Our next Anointing of the Sick will take place following the 4 pm Mass at SS. Peter & Paul on Saturday, July 18. This sacrament is for those who struggle with serious illness in their life or for those who are feeling the effects of age.

Rest in Peace
Please hold Betty Casper and Ron Werdeo in prayer. Betty passed away on Wednesday, June 24, and her funeral was celebrated this last Saturday. Ron passed away on Thursday, June 25, and his funeral was celebrated this past Tuesday. Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual life shine upon them.
Mary Garden
A Mary garden is a sacred garden highlighting the Virgin Mary. Deacon Pat’s last task he worked on before he could officially “retire” was putting together a beautiful space to pray, a Mary Garden, between the school/gym and church on the west side of the church building. This came together because of the generosity of memorials. Do you have a green thumb? Like gardening? We are hoping someone would be willing to care for that space and keep it looking nice. Interested, contact Kim.
Parish Office Reopening
Ss. Peter & Paul’s summer office hours will be 9 am to 2 pm Monday-Thursday, Fridays by appointment. Thank you for your continued social distancing.
Scrip
If anyone wants scrip, feel free to call the office (894-3553) or send an email ([email protected]) with details of your order. Kim will get it ready and you can pick it up during summer office hours.
Collections
A lockbox, a locked wall mounted mailbox not associated with the post office, has been installed on the rectory by the front door opposite the mailbox. Feel free to drop your stewardship envelopes or any correspondence for the parish office if you’re here and the office is not open.
Bulletins Available
A box has been installed outside of the doors of church on Fremont Street for anyone who would like to pick up a church bulletin when the church is locked. It is located by the far east door.
SS. Peter & Paul Bishop’s Appeal
Pledged/Received : 38,245 (94%) 2020 Goal : 40,539
Families/Individuals Giving: 198
We are just short of our goal—$2,294. 00. Thank you to all who have made a contribution in the name of SS. Peter & Paul. Please prayerfully consider making a donation if you haven’t done so already.
Grab & Go Bags
All three parishes have bags of Grab & Go food for ANY families/couples/individuals in need. No questions asked. Simply take what you need. Or grab one for someone who might need it. If the supply runs low, we will restock. They include instant single serving foods and items may vary. The bags can be found in the porch of the parish center at St. Ann, on the stairs of the rectory at Holy Rosary and in the two bins outside of the rectory office at Ss. Peter & Paul. Spread the word. Thank you to the generous donors who have contributed funds to make this possible for our community.
Changes in Your Household?
Is a cell phone now your primary household phone? Have you moved? We’d appreciate having your new address or phone number. Change of address, change of name, marital status—these are the things we need to keep our records accurate. Please help us by notifying us of any changes. Please contact the parish office with any updates.
