Holdingford Daze!

Recently we celebrated the Feast of St. Benedict, and I was reminded of his empha-sis on hospitality in his famous Rule of St Benedict. Gracious hospitality was exactly what we all saw on display the last three weekends in St. Anna, Bowlus, and Holdingford! Heartfelt thanks to Mike and Deb Peters, Bob and Shelly Vouk, and the St. Isidore K of C for their support for Holdingford Daze; thanks to Nathan Neuman and the All Saints Choir, and Bob Jarnot for all the setup and ushers for the outdoor Mass. I am proud to be your pastor, and happy to see us all building community along with our faith life. Area Catholic Community

July 2019

Dear People of God!

As pastors of our newly formed Area Catholic Community – North Prairie, Royalton,

Immaculate Conception, Bowlus and Opole – we gratefully announce the membership of

our ACC Planning Council:

Holy Cross, North Prairie: Holy Trinity, Royalton: Ann Borash Earle Fisher Courtney Borash (recorder) Linda Kroll Gerald Pasch Gary Opatz Immaculate Conception, Rice: Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Opole: Greg Frank Cathy Lyon Carl Nord Jeff Rudolph Jean Skroch (vice-chair) Melyssa Sakry (chair) St. Stanislaus, Bowlus Tom Fussy Marion Leners

Each parish was to appoint two or three members to the Council, one each from parish

staff, parish leadership and an “at-large” member. These generous council members

represent a cross section of our parishes in age, professional backgrounds and ministry

experiences. We are an advisory and visionary council who will gather information,

listen to the voices of the people and connect with the Pastoral and Finance Councils of

the parishes. Our Council met for the first time on June 26, and we plan to meet regu-

larly.

We see our task as two-fold: to gather the information on “what is” now and to envi-

sion “what could be” in our parish ministries and programs and be aware of our

strengths and challenges. Together we go out and make disciples with a renewed effort

and inter-parish collaboration. Our Planning Council is charged with formulating a

comprehensive plan that will be submitted to the Diocesan Planning Office by the end of

December.

Our work is just beginning, so do not expect to see changes in schedules, programs or

events right away. The vision of the planning process for all diocesan parishes is that

implementation will take place over several years. We will do our very best to keep you

informed. Please keep us in prayer as we pray for one another to be led by the Holy

Spirit in this planning adventure.

Peace be with you!

Fr. Roger Klassen, OSB Fr. Tom Becker Fr. Gregory Mastey Fr. Gene Doyle

(We are open to one more volunteer for the Bowlus Parish).

All Saints Building update: On May 2nd, I wrote a letter to the Bishop and Diocesan Building Committee about the issues we are discussing in the area of the steps and/or future building in Holdingford. On May 29th, Bob Pueringer and myself presented to the Diocesan Board in St. Cloud on where we are at and asking for permission to hire a fundraiser firm and do a feasibility study to see whether or not the funds are present to move forward. The Board was about 8 members. The Diocese did give us a go ahead to do a feasibility study for a possible new church. Please continue to pray!

St. Stanislaus will be closed to the public ALL day this next Thursday, July 25th, while the carpets are cleaned. Please wait to enter until Friday morning (or longer if carpets need extra time to dry out). Thank you!

Jesus, I trust in you! St. Sr. Faustina was instructed by Jesus to be His secre-tary and to spread His Divine Mercy. Her diary is the journey of her soul and is filled with conversation be-tween her and Jesus along with instruction and prayers from Jesus. Jesus’s words will be in bold. From the Dia-ry: On leaving the earth, O Lord, you wanted to stay with us, and so You left us Yourself in the Sacrament of the Altar, and You opened wide Your mercy to us. There is no misery that could exhaust You; You have called us all to this fountain of love, to this spring of God’s compassion. Here is the tabernacle of Your mer-cy, here is the remedy for all our ills. To You, O living spring of mercy, all souls are drawn. (Diary 1747)
