Girona’s Cathedral Girona’s Cathedral The Roman Catholic Cathedral of Saint Mary is in Girona, Catalonia, Spain. It's the widest Gothic nave in the world and the second widest overall after that of St. Peter’s Basilica. Its construction was first started in 11 th century in Romanesque style, continued in othic style and finished in the 18 th century.

It's the widest Gothic nave in the world and the second widest overall after that of St. Peter’s Basilica.

Its construction was first started in 11 th century in Romanesque style, continued in othic style and finished in the 18 th century.

The cloister is Romanesque style. It has a series of columns with sculpted capitals. The capitals depict fantastic figures and animals, and vegetable motifs.

It’s romanesque style. It’s from the eleventh century. Its name is from a medieval Catalan king.

It’s a baroque façade from 1606. There are sculptures to decorate.There’s a beautiful rose window.

The bell tower was started in 1590. It has an octogonal

plan and it has seven bells .

The door of the Apostles is a gothic door. It is from the 14th century. Originally it had got twelve statues but

because of the war in 1936, ten estatues were lost.

The museum is next to the cathedral, inside it, there are a lot of valuable

relics.
