Psalms: The School of Prayer

We hear the Psalms read or sung at every Mass between the first and second read-ings, but do we understand their signifi-cance? The Psalms are the heart of the Bible. They are prayers from God that help us to pray. These sacred hymns be-come our heartfelt response to God’s lov-ing and wondrous deeds for us. Their words captivate the imagination and draw us into a deeply personal encounter with God.

Join the Thursday afternoon bible study group as we study Psalms: The School of Prayer beginning September 6 from 1 pm to 3 pm in Seton Hall. Psalm study will take place for 11 weeks. For more information or to register for the study, call Mona Diaz at 713-569-2829 or email: [email protected].

VOLUNTEER WITH KIDS HOPE AND HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO IMPACT A CHILD’S LIFE

The chance for caring adults to provide students with one-on-one attention at school is priceless. Imagine if every elementary school in the country offered students who need a listening ear the chance to be a part of the Kids Hope USA program; what would school look like? Answer: They would be filled with children who thrive and excel in every aspect of life. For more information please see our ministry website: http://olwcatholic.org/kids-hope-usa To register as a mentor or prayer partner con-tact Margaret Pichon at [email protected] or 713-465-3604.
