A process which brings a school community together to teach children to be healthy for a lifetime.
What is Coordinated School Health & CATCH?
CATCH A resource that helps
schools make it fun and doable to implement CSH.
A coordinated program that can be implemented campus-wide to create & support a healthy environment
Why CATCH? Because it works!
If you change the environment, behavior will follow!
• Implement Coordinated School Health – CATCH – to help create a healthy environment and promote healthy habits.
• The CATCH Program breaks down implementation activities into smaller, doable tasks – a new task every 9-week grading period.Resources needed to implement your task(s)
are provided!

The CATCH Program Materials
• ALL materials needed are available electronically.
To be a school where everyone is working together
and speaking a common language that creates and maintains a healthy school
environment.
Goal
• CATCH blends coordination throughout a campus by using a common and consistent language. – CATCH MVP– GO, SLOW, & WHOA Foods
The “Language of CATCH”
CATCH Schools aim to achieve healthy behaviors and positive outcomes in the following areas:
•Move and stay active
•Value healthy eating
•Practice healthy habits
CATCH MVP School
• GO foods are lower in fat, and/or added sugar, and/or they are less processed relative to foods in the same food group and are commonly described as ‘whole foods’.
• SLOW foods are higher in fat, and/or added sugar, and may be more processed than GO foods.
• WHOA foods are highest in fat, added sugar, and/or are the most processed.

CATCH Coordination Toolkit
• Guides a school’s efforts to implement the program– Led by the CSH/CATCH Champion &Team
• Implementation efforts follow our 9-week grading periods– 1 to 3 tasks per 9-weeks
• Resources are provided and available electronically
• There are 4 Themes (1 theme each 9-weeks) in that focus implementation on a common
school-wide initiative.
