The spring season is just around the bend, the cold is finally giving way to warmer days (hopefully here to stay), and the days of below freezing tem- peratures, ice, and snow will be a distant memory. Speaking of memories, let’s reflect back on last month’s Valentine’s dance. We had a stellar turn- out, with guests enjoying delightful ambiance, great music, and tasty hors d'oeuvres and pastries. It was a night to remember with our GES cardinals and accompanying family members dressed quite stunningly. A couple weeks later, we had our Science Fair, where we saw so many in- teresting projects, experiments, and displays. Our students taught us an impressive array of fascinating facts ranging from growing dinosaurs to creating tornadoes and more...all in one night! Our cardinals are amazing and ingenious, and we congratulate each of our participants and winners. Before the Science Fair, we also had a special PTA general assembly meet- ing, with the highlight being a unanimous vote approving $15,000 to pur- chase laptops for GES. This is an excellent example of how we use the money we raise to benefit our school and our children, all thanks to you and your thoughtful contributions. Now, it is time to get ready for our big spring fundraiser! Cardinal Car- naval de Rue 2015 (street carnival) will take place Sunday, April 12th from 12:30-4:30 p.m. It is an exciting and fun Sunday afternoon event for the whole GES community. We will have games, activities, crafts, entertainment, a silent art auction, a silent basket auction, and more! Our goal this year is to raise $15,000 to support the many enrichment programs, activities, and services provided by the GES PTA, including providing classroom materials, educational tools and resources, and technology to GES. Bring the whole family and your friends to show your support for GES and help us reach our goal! You’ll be hearing more about the Carnaval de Rue as it approaches and how you can get involved behind the scenes to help us make this event spectacular. Let’s go out with a bang!
