President Campbell retires

From 1985 to 2012, Carthage Enrollment rose from 806 to 2,500

In his early years at Carthage, President Campbell visited retired president

Harold Lentz in his Ohio home. “What was the secret of your success?”

asked Mr. Campbell. “Carthage needed someone to love it—and

so I did,” replied Rev. Lentz. That advice planted a seed in Mr. Campbell’s

heart. He fell in love with Carthage. Twenty-fi ve

years later, we celebrate the remarkable

transformation made possible by that love.
