Quality of animation the camera mans revenge The audience for the camera mans revenge would be people that went to the cinema and the only way to see these films were in the cinema so the audience wouldn’t affect the budget as the audience would be the same people going to see the films. The people that have money to see it so as the budget will relatively be the same the budget wouldn’t greatly increase to pay for better special effects. The budget in those days were only produced by the rich people going to see the films and thee only place the film would make money is the cinema because there were not tv’s or dvd players. So in terms of budget back in them days they would have to work out how much money they would have to spend on the film then make it and they just hope it does well at the cinema. So in terms of how much budget the directors have to make the film depends on how rich they are. The animation was made in 1912 when cinema had only been invented for 17 years so technology was limited. But for the amount of technology they had the quality is good because there is not big jumps in the movements like in bagpuss but the movements is jumpy. The camera does tend to shake a lot but they have set up the scenery and backgrounds nicely so it does look effective in that manor. The sound that is played on pianio is half descent because it is tune and it goes well with the theme. The place of exhibition is the cinema but the place of exebition does not affect the quality because that’s the only place it can be shown and it can only be shown to the rich people. It is not like wollace and gromit where it can be shown in the cinema or on tv and where wollace and gromit is shown it effects the budget. Quality of animation king kong The audience in king kong is different from the camera mans revenge because now the audiences have become much bigger as a result of the cinema being around a bit longer so the technology is cheaper thus making cinema much more affordable. The audience just grows and grows in the 30’s as the only place to see the films is the cinema. And so because a lot of people go and see it they can afford to give the film a bigger budget so the film will be made better/ have higher quality as they have the money to spend on the best technology of the era. In king kong the budget has quadrupled for films in that era then the era the camera mans revenge was made in. because cinema advanced so much in the years the cinema became readily available for loads of people to watch it so in the cinema hay day loads of cinemas were built all over the world. So loads of people saw the films at affordable prices which helped make the film industry a lot of money thus allowing films to have a bigger budget so they can invest in better technology to make the quality of the film better. The king kong film was made in the 1930’s when more advanced technology was created e.g. back screen projection where the animation is projected on to a

The  king  kong  film  was  made  in  the  1930’s  when  more  advanced  technology  was  created  e.g.  back  screen  projection  where  the  animation  is  projected  on  to  a

screen  and  the  actor  is  in  front  of  the  screen  acting  then  they  film  the  screen  making  the  woman  and  king  kong  appear  in  the  same  scene      togeather  as  if  it  was  real.  This  new  technology  made  the  quality  of  the  animation  much  better.  As  it  looked  really  effective  with  king  kong  fighting  the  dinosaur.  The  movement  hasn’t  improved  greatly  but  its  good  how  they  managed  to  film  the  empire  state  building  with  king  kong  on  the  top  appearing  as  he  was  really  on  the  building.        The  place  of  exhibition  is  the  cinema  like  revenge  of  the  camera  man  king  kong  is  made  at  a  time  when  films  can  only  be  shown  in  the  cinema  but  the  difference  is  king  kong  was  made  when  there  was  a  lot  more  cinema’s  so  although  the  exhibition  place  is  the  same  its  slightly  different  because  a  lot  more  people  would  see  king  kong  as  there’s  much  more  of  the  same  place  to  exhibit  it.
