FIRST SCENE

NARRATOR:Once upon a time, a Donkey lived on a farm. A donkey worked hard for the farmer. After many years, the donkey becomes old and tired.

DONKEY: Oh, this sack is so heavy! I wish I could rest

FARMER: Hmm. this donkey is too old for me. I should sell him to the butcher

DONKEY: Oh no! The butcher will kill me. I must escape. Hmm, what will I do for living then?Aha! I will go to Bremen and become a musician

NARRATORThe farmer and the donkey returned to the farm. The farmer took the donkey sack and went into the barn.

DONKEY: Now it’s my chance

NARRATORThe Donkey ran away

SECOND SCENE

NARRATOR:Soon the donkey found the road to Bremen. He met and old dog lying on the ground. The dog was out of breath.

DONKEY: What are you out of breath Mr dog?

DOG: Ahh, I’m old and weak. I cannot hunt anymore. My master thought I was lazy. He tried to shoot me. Now, I don’t have either home or job. I will starve

DONKEY: I’m going to Bremen to become a musician. Let’s go together. We can start a musical band . I will play guitar and you can beat the drum

DOG: That’s great idea

NARRATORThe donkey and the dog walk toward Bremen. Before long, they met cat. He was sitting beside the road. The cat had a sad look

DONKEY: Mr Cat, you look sad. What’s the matter with you?

CAT: I’m sad because I am no longer love. I am too old to catch mice. And my mistress beat me. So I ran away. But I don’t know where to go

DONKEY: Oh, come with us to Bremen. We can start a musical Band. I will play the guitar, Mr Dog will beat the drum and you can sing in our band

CAT: That sound great.

NARRATORSo the cat joined the donkey and the cat on their way to Bremen. Soon, the three animals came to a farm. A rooster sat on a fence. He crowed on his might

ROOSTER: Cook-a-dodle-do

DONKEY: You sound scared. What’s the matter?

ROOSTER: I wake everyone in this farm every morning. But tonight, guests are coming for dinner. The master’s wife told the cook to cook me for their soup. So I’m crowing until I die. Cook-a-dodle-do

DONKEY: Mr Rooster, you must come with us too. We are going to Bremen. You have good voice. You can sing in our band.

ROOSTER: Anything is better than death. I will join you right now.

NARRATORThe rooster jumped down from fence. Soon, all the animals walked toward Bremen

THIRD SCENE

NARRATORThat evening, the animals passed through the forest. They decided to spend their night by a big tree.The Donkey and the dog lay down near the tree.The cat climbed up the tree and curled on the branch.But the rooster flew up to the top of the tree. He could see everything around them

ROOSTER: I see a light over there. It is a house. It’s not too far from here

DONKEY: Let’s spend the night in the house. It’s too cold and windy to stay outside.

DOG: Yes, and there may be some food too.

NARRATORThe animals walked through the forest. Finally ,they reach the houseThe donkey was the tallest. He look through the window.

ROOSTER: What do you see Mr Donkey?

DONKEY: Shush! Keep your voice down. Someone is in there

ROBBER 1: Ooh! We stole so much money. What A lucky day!

ROBBER 1: Hahaha….. Let’s drink all night

CAT: What do you see Mr Donkey?

DONKEY: There are good things to eat and drink on the table. But the robbers are sitting at the table too

ROOSTER: Robbers? Oh my… they might kill us. Let’s run away!

CAT: But I’m so hungry

DOG: We can scare them away. Then, we can eat the food and spend the night in the warm house

CAT: How?

DONKEY: I know how to scare them. I will put my legs on the windows ledge. Mr Dog can jump on my back. Mr Cat can climb on Mr Dog back. Mr Rooster can fly to the very top.When I say start, we will all make noise as loudly as we can.

NARRATORThe other animals thought that this was a great idea.They climbed on the donkey back and waited his signal

DONKEY: GoAll animals make sound.

ROBBER 1: Ooh! It’s a ghost. It’s here to punish our sins. What should we do?

NARRATORBut the donkey was old and weak. He leaned against the window because he was tired. Suddenly the windows broke. They are fell through the window and into the room. But fortunately, the wind blew the candle out at the same time

ROBBER 1: Ooh! It is a ghost. Run.

NARRATORThe robbers ran out the house, thinking a ghost made a noise and broke out the windowsThen the four animals laugh and sat down at the table. They ate and ateEach animal found a comfortable spot an fell asleepThe robber watch from the forest.

ROBBER 1: Let’s pull ourselves together, now. Look, it’s quiet again. I think we should go back and check it out.

ROBBER 2: Then, you go to the house first.

ROBBER 1: Ok, I’m not scared.

NARRATORThe robber entered the hose quietly. He went to the kitchen to light a candle. But the cat was watching him.

ROBBER 1: Oh, there are two coals in the fire place. I will strike my match on one of them.

NARRATORBut the coals were really the cat’s eye. The robbers struck the match on the cat’s face.The cat hissed and scratched the robber’s faceThe frightened robber ran to the back door. there the dog bit his leg. The robber screamed and run across the yard. The donkey woke up and kick the robber. The rooster woke up and screamed

ROOSTER: Cook-a-dodle-do

NARRATORThe frightened robber ran to warn his friend.

ROBBER 1: aah, there’s horrible witch sitting in the house. She scratch my face with the long claws.And by the door, a man with a knife stabbed me in the leg.When I ran out, a black monster beat me with a club.A judge sat on the roof and called out “you are all robbers, Go away”so I ran as fast as I could

ROBBER 1: We must escape before they come after us.

NARRATORSo the robbers ran awayThe animals watch as the robbers ran away

ROOSTER: Hurray, the robbers are gone

CAT: This is a nice place to stay. And there is plenty to eat. And each of us has a warm place to sleep

DOG: Let’s stay here forever

DONKEY: Yes, let’s stay here. We can sing and eat all we want. We do not need to go to Bremen any longer

NARRATORThe robbers never returned to the houseThe four musicians live in the house happily ever after
