Fragmented: one union for each professional or occupational group, organised in one town/city or region;

Vertical organisation: unions can be affiliated to regional/state federations or national confederations organised in the same sector;

Horizontal: union can be affiliated to national trade union federations (Main federations: CUT, FS, CTB, CGTB, NCST);

Compulsory Funding: union budget is composed by a union tax (one-day-a-year mandatory discount of each formal worker)

Bank Workers: the only sector nationally organised

National collective bargaining and negotiations with individual banks led by Contraf/CUT (benchmark for other sectors and unions)
