In 2013 marine expeditions were organized
in May-June. The samples were taken on
the following five stations:
Gonio;
Qobuleti;
Batumi;
Poti;
Supsa.

Black Sea monitoring was conducted
by the Black Sea Monitoring Division
of the National Environmental Agency
of the Ministry of Environment and
Natural Resources Protection of
Georgia.
Monitoring Station – Poti
• Sampling was conducted in June.
According the results of analyzes
nitrate concentration was 0.90 µmol/l
on surface and 0.53 µmol/l on 20m
depth; nitrite concentration – 0.52-0.54
µmol/l; ammonium concentration was
not detected as on surface as well as
on 20m depth; phosphate
concentration – 0.56-0.55 µmol/l;
silicate concentration – 1.88-1.64
µmol/l.

Monitoring Station – Supsa • Sampling was conducted in June.
According the results of analyzes
nitrate concentrations was 3.95 µmol/l
on surface and 0.98 µmol/l on 20m
depth; nitrite concentration – 0.64-0,54
µmol/l; ammonium concentration was
not detected as on surface as well as
on 20m depth; phosphate
concentration – 0.55-0.57 µmol/l;
silicate concentration – 2.82-1.93
µmol/l.

Conclusions
All monitored parameters were below the
Maximum Allowable Concentrations;
The concentration of oxygen was high in all
areas and varies in ranges 297.18-346.25
µmol/l;
Meaning of the pH varies in the ranges 8.4-8.6
and water salinity – 11.20‰ -17.79 ‰.
