The 3 rd Amendment Restricts quartering of troops Not valid during emergencies! The 4 th Amendment The need for probable cause, search warrants, and arrest warrants Protects against unreasonable searches and seizures The 5 th Amendment Assures the right not to be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law Includes protection against double jeopardy Self incrimination Seizure of property w/o compensation The 6 th Amendment Guarantees the right to a speedy and public trial by an impartial jury The 7 th Amendment Trial by jury, though small claims is a judge The Eighth Amendment Protects against excessive bail, Cruel and unusual punishment Amendment 9 Peoples rights are not restricted to only those in the Constitution!
