2 different types of shutter boxes

There are 2 types of shutter boxes for your Harol surface-mounted roller shutters: a rounded type and a bevelled type. Both are available as standard in aluminium. If you prefer the bevelled shutter box, this is also available in extruded aluminium. With the rounded type, you can opt for matching rounded guide rails. The shutter box is available in 6 different sizes (from 137 mm to 230 mm).

6 different slat types

You can choose from 2 types of double-walled PVC slats and 4 types of double-walled aluminium slats, filled with polyurethane foam. The shutter curtain comes with or without light and ventilation slots. This lets you determine the atmosphere in your room.

Flocked suspension springs connect the shutter curtain to the roller barrel. As they are attached to the top slat, they pull the curtain around the roller. Because of the flocking process, marks from the springs onto the top slats can be avoided.

* This security slat is filled with an extremely hard foam that enhances its intruder-proof properties to a higher degree than with ordinary slats.

Select your colours!

Harol surface-mounted roller shutters go with all architectural styles, from classic to contemporary. The shutter box, guide rails and bottom lath are available in several standard colours. You can also choose from the full RAl colour palette. In addition to our traditional coatings we would like to introduce our trendy textured coatings. These coatings are highly scratch-resistant and water-repellent, which allows for a self-cleaning effect. Within this range of textured coatings there is also the Prestige colour palette: a selection we can offer you for a very reasonable price.

For the slats you can choose from several colours, depending on the type of slat. Your Harol specialist is happy to tell you more about all the options.

5 different controls

You can choose to operate your shutters with a manual control with tape, crank, cord or coil spring, or alternatively, you may prefer an electric control. The latter is by far the easiest. This means you can raise or lower the shutter using a switch or a remote control. Better still: if you combine it with a timer you can even fully automate the process to make it seem like you are at home. Especially handy during your holidays!

Solar roller shutter

A Harol Solar roller shutter operates completely independently on solar

energy and has an excellent performance, even in less than ideal weather

circumstances. Other strengths are:

> The fully charged battery that works immediately after installation.

> Ease of use: the radio-controlled motor makes the Solar roller shutter extremely flexible. The battery – which can be easily fitted in the shutter box or behind the guide rails – operates at temperatures from -20 °C to +70 °C.

> You can choose from 3 types of Solar roller shutters, depending on the desired motor power (3, 6 or 10 Nm). The shutter can cover up to 5 m2 of surface, depending on your choice of slats. The panel dimensions are 55 mm h x 500 mm w.

Guide rails are an important part of any shutter, which is why Harol pays extra attention to their finish, strength and appearance. Both types of Harol built-on roller shutters have special custom guide rails fitted to the shutter curtain, with extra strong mounting options.

All Harol roller shutters, including the built-on roller shutters, can be controlled with a tape, crank, coil spring or an electric motor, with or without emergency manual operation. An electric motor is the most comfortable to use. You can even connect your home automation systems to it. Or why not: a fully automatic control system! All you need to do is configure when you want the shutters to open and close. It will appear as if you are always at home, making you feel a lot safer – even when you're on holidays!

Set the times you want the shutters to roll up and lower and you won't have to worry about your shutters any more.

A roll-up grille is generally a perforated, see-through roller shutter: it carefully shuts off an area or shop window, yet provides sufficient transparency for viewing. If required, Harol can deliver solid roll-up grilles with a fully closed curtain. With the different slat types there are 11 possible variations of roll-up grille curtains. And with a number of slat types you can choose coloured trims as an additional feature. This allows you to blend your roll-up grille with your personal taste and the style of your business.

Colour is key!

The curtain, the guide rails and the bottom lath of the roll-up grilles are available in natural aluminium, or we can paint them in a standard RAl colour of your choice. The box is not available in natural aluminium, only in all standard and RAL colours. The standard version gives you a choice of white or brown. For an additional amount you can choose from the full RAL colour palette: this will allow you to create your roll-up grille according to your own personal style!

There are a number of slat types that can be fitted with a trim: this will give your roll-up grille that special touch and it will make those dull grey streets after closing time a thing of the past! Control systems and home automation

You can choose how you want to control your Harol roll-up grille:

> Electrically with a tubular motor (built into the roller barrel) or by using an external motor. These motors are equipped with thermal protection and an end loop circuit so that the roll-up grille stops automatically at the top and bottom. To control the shutter, you can choose from a rotary switch, a push button switch or a key switch.

> Manually using a coil spring. This control system can be used for a roll-up grille with a maximum area of 5 m2.

Or would you prefer the electric controls? in that case you might want to consider some of the home automation systems:

> Push button switch

> Remote control with transmitter and receiver

> Key contact on the outside

> Keypad contact on the outside

3 available guide rails There are 3 types of guide rails, made from extruded aluminium and finished with rounded corners depending on the application (built-in or surface-mounted).

Options

> Tracking washers

> Window glass (only available with curtain types 10 and 11)

Coloured trims(Available colours: white-black-green-yellow-red-blue).

The tracking washer prevents the curtain from being pulled out or blown out of the guide rails.

A Harol roll-up door exudes quality from all its components. There are 3 types of guide rails, made from extruded aluminium and finished with rounded corners. Moreover, the guide rails contain a special wear-resistant strip made from high-quality plastic. This makes a Harol roll-up door very durable and exceptionally quiet. Sophisticated sliding bearings – optional – move the axle horizontally and prevent the curtain from rolling up or down at an angle. The actual curtain, up to 5 metres wide and 5 metres high, consists of profiled, double-walled and foam-filled aluminium slats, which make it easy to add intermediate slats, ventilation profiles and window panes. You can lock up a maximum area of 15 m2. As you can see, we have thought of everything!

An extremely flexible solution

With a Harol roll-up door you are choosing a versatile solution for locking up large areas. You can opt for a surface-mounted or built-in system, or for a manual or electric version. In the latter case, the roll-up door can also be supplied with both lift and unwind protection. The lift security system will stop anyone from raising the curtain without permission, the unwind protection will prevent the curtain from dropping down in the event the brake on the motor fails. In both cases you will have peace of mind. Always good to know.
