Dear Parents/Carers,

As we come to end of term 3 I am sure, that like me, you will be feeling how quickly the term has gone. We are already half way

reviewing the curriculum and are already planning how this will evolve. They have taken some inspiration from the design and

innovation museum in London and are now using this to inform the next steps in the subject areas that they lead.

I launched the new website this term and have had some lovely feedback about the new look and twitter feed on the site. You will see

Sporting news...

As the evenings have got lighter in recent weeks both our football teams have had the

opportunity to resume their league campaigns; our Year 5 and 6 boys have managed a 6-2

victory over Hillsgrove, followed by a very entertaining 3-3 draw with Lessness Heath. The

campaign will finish next half-term, when the boys will also face a very exciting cup quarter

-final tie with Kent champions Danson!

Our girls have also done extremely well - in the Kent School finals at a wet and windy

Sporting Thamesmead their only defeats were against the eventual overall competition

winners - and in the league an unfortunate defeat against Bedonwell was followed by great

wins over Northumberland Heath, St. Michaels, St Thomas More, Fosters and Danson,

meaning that 3rd place medals have been secured - well done girls! Their cup campaign

begins next half term with a first round match against Northumberland Heath.

Well done also to the children that represented us in the Primary First Trust dodgeball and

speed stacking events - you were all a credit to yourselves and the school.

Next half-term is a busy one - all the above football matches to be played, Hockey and

Cross country competitions, plus our girls representing Bexley at the London Youth Games

football competition. Remember you can catch up with all the results, plus additional

pictures and information, on our Barnehurst schools twitter page!
