Where there is no vision, the people perish…

Proverbs 29:19 (KJV) In the January issue of The Baptist Informer we looked at the importance of “vision” and “focus” in 2020. This month I wanted to look forward, by looking backward, at the church’s Mission Statement and Values we developed in 2001 through a Values Based Strategic Planning Process guided by the Center for Congregational Health. Although now almost 19 years old, the document seems to continue to capture what is important to us as a body of believers. Throughout the year we will be looking at different aspects (e.g. in January we looked at our “value” of stewardship) to help focus us now, and envision the future God has in store for us. Grace and Peace,

John

Youth News!

The last weekend of January the Youth and chaperones will be traveling to Winter-place Ski Resort in West Virginia for a Youth ski trip. This will be a really fun time for all of us skiing and spending some time in worship. Please be in prayer for safety trav-eling and on the slopes! In January, we started our study of Romans. This is somewhat aligned with the Disci-pleship Training Adult class on Wednesday nights. There is something great about all generations studying the same scripture, at the same time. Each week adult and Youth classes will start with the same ice breaker and end with the same discussion questions to be discussed at home. I am also hoping to create some new bible study habits with the Youth. Using this time to teach them how to glean their own message from God. Please be in prayer that the Youth will recognize the importance of studying scripture and that God will move through this group, speaking to them during this study. We are excited to announce a fundraiser we are holding in May. The Youth will be hosting a golf tournament at Reedy Creek Golf Course on Saturday, May 16th. This year it will benefit Youth going on the Blackfeet Mission Trip. Depending on how things go, it may be an annual thing. So, mark your calendars! More information will be coming out soon! Weekly updates are sent out typically on Monday afternoons via email. The updates include plans for Wednesday nights, recap of the previous Wednesday night, and any other activities we have planned.

If you are curious about what our Youth are up to, please contact me and I will gladly add you to the list to receive these emails.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me. (Text and personal email for quickest response) Cell: 919-464-7499 Personal Email: [email protected] Youth Email: [email protected]
